    Carlton vs Essendon... *Spoiler*

The Bombers are absolute rubbish at the moment.

Carlton played silly, irresponsible, lazy, wasteful and self-indulgent footy for three quarters tonight. A half-decent side would have put them away by half-time. And yet they managed to end up with nine more scoring shots than Essendon. The Dons were flattered by Carlton's kicking.

They have three weeks. If they can't find a win in that time, you can scrub another team from the already depleted list of finals contenders.

Essendon owe me a new radio. I kicked my old one in last night.

I was baffled by how ordinary the Blues were for the first 3 quarters - turnovers in the midfield and terrible entries into defence. But I agree with you Charlie, even at that stage, it was clear that they were making the Bombers look decent rather than being made to look ordinary themselves. Essendon seemed to have a complete aversion to moving the ball through the middle, and they were only keeping the score ticking through the brilliance in front of goal of Lucas and Mark Johnson.

Lloyd may help straighten them up but it's hard to see them winning a game before he returns.

Carlton's performance was more puzzling. They made it look so easy in the final quarter that you have to wonder what they were playing at for the rest of the game. Leaving Fletcher to run around on his own for so long was baffling. Was it a tactical error from the box, or was there a player just not doing his job?

Having De Luca down there as well as Fevola and Whitnall makes their forward line look very potent when they have their heads screwed on properly.

I was thinking last night they wouldn't win until Lloyd returned as well. Then I realised they play Hawthorn next week.

If they lose that... could they lose that?
