    Ball Ups v Bounce Downs

Strictly for around the ground stoppages, I think that the Ump has to throw the ball up.

The bounce down allows the pack to reform, match ups to be found, men to be held off and so forth.

A fast ball up, ready or not (so long as there isn't a man about to be trampled) kind of thing would enhance the asthetic of the game.

It would almost be like there is no real hold up at all. I am finding myself really short fused when it comes to stoppages this year and I don't think I am alone.

Agree....and the fact that they often throw the ball up when a scuffle occurs at a stoppage to get the game going again and keep the scuffle to a minimum shows how well it works to get the game moving again.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

That happened to a drunk Ump in a pub in Tarralgon with a bounce. Broke his own beak!
