    Port Adelaide

Much as I may hate Port and their evil Damien Peverill-like mascot, I still think that they are a good team.

They are buggered by injuries and a loss of form at the moment, but I can't see huge changes between this team and the one that won the premiership last year and went pretty well the two years before that.

Why does Paul Roos not rate them ? He always refers to Brisbane as the benchmark, and in his column on the swans page, he rates Brisbane, St Kilda and Geelong as the teams to beat. Any insights ?
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way you'll be a mile away and he'll be shoeless.

I think Roos always views the team as a whole. And some changes at Port after last season suggest all is not happy over there. Brisbane are rock solid behind Voss. Geelong seem to have a good team ethic like the Swans. The Saints have great talent and presumably Roos thinks they are a close team though I'm not so sure.

Since R5 last year I haven't underestimated the Dees. I hope he's not overlooking them. I wonder if David Neitz would like to visit Sydney's casino?

port are fine when everything is going well. when things go against them they still seem to turn on each other and bitch and snipe on the field. as has been referred to elsewhere on this board, their average losing margin last year was 51, demonstrating that they really fall apart when off song.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

Let's hope we find the right button to push at the SCG on May 15.

I think they mirror their coach.

When he's winning he walks around with that aweful bloody smirk on his face.

When he's losing, everyone in the world is an enemy, so bugger off or else he'll have a cry.

I hate Mark Williams more than any other coach I can recall.

he was on the footy show on the weekend going on about port not being the lucky interstate club and they struggle through. Sure it may be true, but he seems to always sook and complain.

I cant actually think of a coach either that i hated more, maybe buckenarra (sp)
