    Pies seek Brown

    Pies seek Brown
Collingwood has made a bold, last-ditch bid to lure Jonathan Brown back to Victoria and told the brilliant forward he could earn an estimated $3 million between 2006 and 2008 should he turn his back on the Brisbane Lions and join the Magpies.
That would do a lot for team harmony!!
Matthews told 3AW that Brown was earmarked to replace Michael Voss as the Lions captain and when asked about his future with the club remarked: "Stay tuned." Should Brown, as predicted, remain a Lion, he is looking at a three-year deal worth an estimated $1.5 million. "He is an amazing young man," added Matthews, who gained the Warrnambool-raised youngster under the father-son rule. Brown's father, Brian, played 51 games with Fitzroy. "I'm pleased he's doing a little bit of media work on one of those Fox Footy shows because people see what he's really like.
I hope he stays with the lions, otherwise he'll become another buckley, a great player in a crap team, or should I say the only player in a crap team.

He wasn't only offered 3 millions to switch to Collingwood but also a media deal (guess who's behind that one).

At least they seem to be targetting the right sort of player. He'd make a huge difference to their team.

Guess the good news for the Swans is that nobody seems to be targetting our players....

        LOL!!

Not yet anyway. We don't have a Brown, but there are some good players who are being under utilised, and may be happy at a new home.

I'm only guessing, but McV doesn't get enough game time, for one. ROK, played better closer to goal.
Some of the young ones who aren't getting a chance.

And I wouldn't be surpries to see others Happy to put their hand up to get out if they continue playing negative football.

We all saw what hot commodities the boys were when Roos went to trade week in an 'aggresive' frame of mind.
