Pies seek Brown
That would do a lot for team harmony!!
I hope he stays with the lions, otherwise he'll become another buckley, a great player in a crap team, or should I say the only player in a crap team.
Collingwood has made a bold, last-ditch bid to lure Jonathan Brown back to Victoria and told the brilliant forward he could earn an estimated $3 million between 2006 and 2008 should he turn his back on the Brisbane Lions and join the Magpies.
Matthews told 3AW that Brown was earmarked to replace Michael Voss as the Lions captain and when asked about his future with the club remarked: "Stay tuned." Should Brown, as predicted, remain a Lion, he is looking at a three-year deal worth an estimated $1.5 million. "He is an amazing young man," added Matthews, who gained the Warrnambool-raised youngster under the father-son rule. Brown's father, Brian, played 51 games with Fitzroy. "I'm pleased he's doing a little bit of media work on one of those Fox Footy shows because people see what he's really like.
