9000 free tickets to Kangas match in Canberra

How long is the ACT government going to persist!

Outside of the games against us, it is pretty woeful.

Foxtel have purchased the tickets to promote their digital serive, but let's face it, it is to get a bit of atmosphere at the match!

I've said my bit on Bigfooty.

Of course most people from Melbourne have little concept of the complexities of footy north of the Murray. I don't know why I even bothered giving my 2c about this kind of thing.

I think North are perfect for a city like Canberra. But onl;y if they are fair dinkum about playing there.

I agree, the problem is that a die hard born and bred Canberra person isn't going to dump say Essendon or Collingwood to go for a fly in side. The interest in North Melbourne simply isn't there, if they are serious, it has to be a real move, so the people of Canberra can feel some ownership.

The Lobster will be REALLY pleased to read this news - he could have saved money by NOT buying the Kangas membership and still got to the three games.

Doing this sort of deal might give the Kangas some immediate gain but it will make it harder to sell those membership packages next year.

ROK, does your Canberra package give you better seats than the public can get?

Good seats? Manuka? I haven't seen any there mate.

Where there are 8000 at the game, I'm sure you'd be able to sit whereever you wanted. Are they still strict on not letting people into the reserved seating area if they have a GA ticket at non Roos-Swans matches?

I totally agree. I spent 8 years in Canberra during the 70's (I was in school) and Aussie Rules was equal in popularity to League and Union was unknown. The AFL have left Canberra a bit late but it is definately still worth pursuing. However, they should bite the bullet and give Canberra a permanent team (but dont leave us Lobster!).

I've been saying it for two years.

A pointless venture with no sign of success, now or in the future. A waste of time, a waste of money, and a waste of games.

This last is the most important factor to you isn't it Charlie? The others are just padding.

I don't know how much good it's doing the Kangas (presumably some or they wouldn't keep doing it) but it can't hurt the AFL's long term interests to keep at least some presence there and that might as well be the Kangas.

Thats what I have thought for years The Kangaroos are a joke. Their foray into Sydney was farcical at best, and I'm thinking the same thing about their Canberra fling.

Of course it is. Why does it matter, though? My point stands. There is no long-term future for any AFL club in Canberra.

I guess anything that gets more Swans matches close to Sydney and less in Melbourne is a good thing.
