    Nathan Brown

Would be the worst sight of an injury since Voss broke his leg in Perth in about '98. Although I don't think they had footage like they did of Brown - you could see Voss' leg break in the tackle, but they didn't show the aftermath like they did with Brown.

A real pity for the Tigers - will be interesting to see how they go from here on in without him...

    Argh - that was horrific.

Reminds me of the running back in the NFL about a decade or so ago!!

That's really terrible. I've always thought Brown a class act. Obviously a tough loss for the Tiges.

Reminded me of Scott Prince a few years back when he was playing for the Broncos in a game at ANZ Stadium. Or Djibril Cisse last year for Liverpool.

I had to hold my sisters arm once, when the forearm was in two pieces, held together by only muscle and skin, and the pieces at ninety degrees to each other.

Like one of the commentators said, when you are looking at it you expect the dangling piece just to fall off. Has to be the most horrific thing I've ever seen a loved one suffer through, and it made very upset for Browny seeing him go through it too.

We can only hope, for the betterment of the game, that he makes a full recovery. Hopefully there is no nerve damage, and the plates and pins that will hold his leg together from now on are strong enough to let him play for a few more years yet.

            horrific is an understatement. geez

had a mate have same thing in soccer, same injury, snapped totally in middle of lower leg. could hear the snap across the whole oval.. like cracker going off. he spent 3 months in a wheel chair and took a year to recover.

nathan brown is a great player, its a real shame. as one of the commentators said, you tend to forget that injury like that can happen at any time due to the nature of the game. i think were lucky its such a rarity.

What a lousy thing to happen, both for Brown and for Richmond. You've gotta feel sorry for them. I havent seen the incident and I dont think I want to.

Yep. Horrid thing to happen to anyone, in any team, in any sport. Hope he recovers sufficiently to play again at the same level. Poor bugger.

He was in amazing form. Hopefully he'll bounce back.

Hopefully he can look on the bright side of things and see what has happened to another twenty-something Australian on the same day and think "it could be worse".
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Ditto! Even though I was watching the game I closed my eyes through all seventeen different angles the Nine found and showed. Commetti had to shout "Enough!" before they stopped showing them.

I hope they get it all pinned properly this morning and he makes a full recovery. Brown is not only a great player but he seems like a nice guy as well (unlike some other "star" players)

It was think excruciating just looking at it. I shudder to think what it felt like.

I wouldn't think so. Snell's damage was around the ankle and became arthritic. Brown's break was mid calf, well away from any joints but still potentially problematic

Yep - I read about that today, so hopefully it will repair well like Voss's.
