    Saint in demand

Saint in demand Looks like Dal Santo is, or soon will be, off the menu.
Dal Santo and midfielder Lenny Hayes are the club's priority signings now among the many uncontracted Saints, with Hayes close to accepting a new deal - the only hold-up being the terms of the third year of the contract. Hayes is understood to be satisfied with the first two years of the proposed contract.

Is it just me, or are there a lot of better midfielders going around that are better than Dal Santo?

Sure, he may be one of the best going round that are off-contract, but i fail to see where exactly he could create value for struggling teams.

He thrives in being left un-tagged (as evidenced through his role off half-back last weekend) - and struggles when he is tagged heavily (such as againstt he Crows).

Although his skills and awareness are immaculate, he still is not a game-breaker, he is more of a consistent performer who can set up play rather the make the actual play himself (ala Judd, McLeod etc.)

I think he will eventually fall into the Nick Stevens, Adam Simpson mould (although he will be far better than them), and have most value linking rather than making the play.

Thats just my opinion, and feel free to comment, but for those reasons he would not be No 1 on my list of wants for a trade...neither would Luke power just for the record...

Interesting point - yep, I can see him being more of a Nick Stevens type than say a Simon Black or Chris Judd type.

I still think Power is overrated.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

It's definitely not just you. He's flavour of the month stuff. Nothing more. A bit of bubble with your squeek. A bit of corriander with your lime. A bit of garlic sauce with your kebab. A bit of fries with your big mac (McDonalds is **** btw).

Your analysis of him is spot on in my opinion.
If u don't believe me, I will knock your bloody teeth out and not pay you a cent.
