    The Pickett hit

I guess a lot of you have seen it. Sure, it was a trifle late (looks worse in slo-mo) but there was really nothing particularly dangerous in it! Should he have been rubbed out for it?! Looked like a 50m penalty to me.

Pickett is a thug, but that one should have just been a 50m penalty.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Disagree, think the tribunal got this one rite & surprised at the reaction.

He's hit the guy going courageously for the mark with no intention to mark. 50m & a week seemed rite to me.

Absolutely, it was thuggish, but he didn't hit high. It was definitely a cheap shot that should/could have caused a fight and drawn a 50m penalty. I think the AFL are scared of these incidents because they cause old-fashioned footy fights.

I'm sure part of the reason for the reaction was the totally ridiculous 6 wks he got earlier in the season.

The tribunal has made a rod for its own back with some of these stupid decisions & so it colours virtually every decision they make now.

To give the guy a little bit of credit he has tried to mend his ways since the early year suspension.

Carlton player is running with the flight of the footy. Collisions are pretty common place in that type of situation. It was late, not high, caused no damage to the Carlton player (was pretty quick to get to his feet and remonstrate). 50m nothing more.

He's Port scum so any suspension is deserved as far as I'm concerned.

Serial offender, makes a habit of going for the cheap shot. Lucky to get off with one week.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The point here is, is AFL turning into netball?

                  Yes i think it is.
