Supporters from visiting AFL clubs are routinely escorted post-match from the arena by security staff to prevent clashes with fans of the Adelaide clubs, who are considered among the most parochial in the country.

....and don't we know it!!

It's only a small minority of course but they give the whole place a bad name.

An SMS was sent into White Line Fever recently in my words and they read it out on the show and an Adelaide supporter made a comment regarding how Adelaide people and fans make interstate people so welcome at games. Pfft.

Hmm, I sometimes wonder whether the powers that be monitor public opinion by keeping an eye on forums like RWO and Big Footy (heaven forbid re the latter ).

I wonder where else they'd be getting these sort of 'reports' from. Alot of the Fox Sports article appears to use information taken directly from my original post here on RWO. Or am I being a tad over-zealous in assuming this?

Funny we start up threads about how bad the Adelaide supporters were, then the next minute it appears on Fox Sports.

Oh well, if so, it shows you how important (and noticed) footy forums like this have become in acting as an unofficial mouthpiece for supporter issues.

Still, it is good that the issue of yobs at matches in SA is not being swept under the carpet. The SANFL I'm pretty sure know about it. The security we get at AAMI Stadium is second to none around the country. But my point is that things should not get to the point where away fans need police escorts out of the footy. To me that is completely unaustralian.
