    Hird to retire in 2006

James Hird has decided to play another season and call it his last. He will hand over the captaincy at the end of this season however.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

    That's a shame.

(I would rather he retired this year.)

That's sad. What's even more sad is that Lloyd is taking over.
Vicky Pollard: Oh my god I so can't believe you just said that this is like the time I threw Anita's nokia in the canal as a joke and she's like you have well got to buy me another one and I'm like get over it and then Paul came over who's adopted anyway and started saying that I fancy Mark Bennett but oh my god just because I have sex with someone doesn't mean I fancy them.

Bon, this is the best part of all.

Essendon will be a pack of headless chooks with Velvet as captain. Kenny Williams has better leadership skills than Lloyd.

When Sheeds was trying Lloyd at CHF this season I was left thinking that it may have been a move to let Jimmy see out a few more seasons deep in the forward line.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                Lloyd to take over?
                Sheedy is on drugs.
The club has gone to the dogs.
