Just wondering what people think, in regard to All Australian selection. It's only picked by idiots in the media, so I don't know if it's as prestigous as some make out.

I thought it was picked by former players (many of which now work in the media) as well as some AFL officials.
I would say it would be something to look back with satisfaction on once a career is finished, but ultimately, as far as individual recognition goes, winning a B&F would rate much higher.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

The selectors can't please everyone... But i think the credentials of the selectors (excepting Adrian Anderson) should sugest that they know what they are talking about. Also i think the players would be extremely honoured to be selected as the best player in the competition in thier position, and as one of the best 22 players in the competition.Comment

a fair point cruiser...Although barry often plays out of the square. My theory on positional selection is full of holes... but that is what they claimed on the selection nite. Both wingers are actually on ballers for the saints, hodge plays mainly on ball for the hawks, everitt is a ruckman. Who knows.... It would be good if the selectors informed the public of the selection criteria. But even then... They could never entertain a hope of pleasing everyone.Comment
