    Aussie Rules Club

In my anger after last Friday's result, I completely forgot to post about the Aussie Rules Club.

Full credit to them for a job well done (especially the lovely Wendy, who always does a fantastic job and manages to always be amazingly friendly). The atmosphere at the club was phenomenal. It was packed upstairs- most of the tables had been replaced with chairs, and still about half the group was standing. The food was alright (considering the numbers and lack of tables, very well managed), and $3 spirits before 8 was fantastic- made the result a little less tragic.

It's wonderful to have that sort of place to watch footy. I'm unsure if I'll be able to go, should we make the prelim, but knowing there's a place like that in Sydney is certainly some consolation.

Absolutely, the place was buzzing as were the bourbons around my head. The place looked great and there was a great sense of comradere around the place. Hope there is more need to be there this year including GF day.

Yes it was a fantastic night...well done to all the staff there on the evening....my first visit there for a Swans match broadcast, finally there is a club in Sydney that appreciates Aussie Rules(apologies but i am fed up of going to clubs in Sydney to watch an AFL match, for some atmosphere etc and only get Rugby League shoved down my throat)! Will definitely return for the next match there, when the Swans are not in Sydney.

It was interesting there on Saturday night. To be honest I can't say it was specifically an ideal place to watch the game up where the tables were. But having seen how things work now, I will be more prepared to to get there early so I can either get a table upstairs or at the very least the couch in front of the tv on the Mezzanine level.

Expecting there to be 5 people in the place, i rocked up at 715pm. Upstairs was basically full. The restaurant area was chockers. Luckily Norris Lurker & Jude_Adams_Babe spotted me, so I sat with them all night. It was exactly the most condusive environment for yelling out and getting into the footy, as people were wanting to eat their dinner. The sound is not really loud enough. And because people are eating the lighting is not particular condusive to seeing the screen properly.

I'm not angry about the scenario, as it was pleasing that the club was full. I'll be well aware of what to expect when there is another Saturday night game interstate that i can't get to. Maybe we can get a couple of RWO tables together or something, as the food wasn't too bad at all.

PS:- Watching a game whilst trying to eat a rump steak is actually quite frustrating. Especially when your back to to the screen. But after the 1st quarter I was thinking "Bloody hell, the food better be good".

Snorts in the direction of one Norris Lurker!

                JF

PS:- Seriously, I have never seen Norris run so fast in his life. He bolted from the table like Ben Cousins when he sees a cop car, so that he could sing the Bombers song with Sydney Bomber et al down in the mezzanine area. It was NOT a good look, I can tell you!

I got a phonecall from Sydney yesterday. Despite the shocking umpiring on Saturday, Mum came home singing the praises of Wendy at the Aussie Rules club, who made sure that her and her friend got seats upstairs to watch the game, and even revealed a shortcut from the club back to the parking station. Nice to see they're keeping up the good work!

am seriously bummed I missed out on the antics at the club, but I was so drunk at a party at my brothers that I missed the second half and was found passed out on his bedroom floor....who won again....I am preferring to forget sat night happened with the roosters losing as well

will make sure I make it to the club for the next away game....bit scared of the $3 spirits with my love of vodka
