Goldspink was being interviewed by SEN just then. He was asked what was the best final he umpired. He replied Plugger's goal at the SCG in 1996 then said that he thought his best umpiring was just letting play go for the last few minutes at the Cats game at the SCG a fortnight ago. He said there were a lot of half frees there but not enough to single one out.

Seemed quite reasonable. I wonder if I'll still be saying that on Sunday.

He did actually sound quite reasonable from what I heard, I would nearly have called him human on that interview.

Well, he must be Luffy's favourite umpire for a reason! Triple M have been calling him this all year. Probably because of the '96 PF. He did screw us in the 2003 PF though. 3 free kicks to Brisbane in the first minute! Talk about setting the tone for the rest of the match!

But on the past 2 weeks I would prefer him to McLaren - just why do we have to have both?!

Well that's just great, we happened to be camped inside our attacking 50, he always manages to give those half chances in our defensive 50 to the attacking side at any stage of the game!

I just remembered another bit of his interview that made me laugh. He was asked his most embarassing moment and nominated when he was umping reserves and bounced the ball straight back up into his face.
