RS, are there many Swans supporters in Coffs? Or is the annual visit more a novelty event for the locals? I assume it is predominantly a rugby league area.
I am lucky where I work that my boss and anther woman I work with are just as into the Swans as me. When we go to the training sessions there are maybe 20-30 watching at any one time. Some we spoke to last year were from Port Maquarie (2 hrs) and Lismore (3hrs). There was a good crowd for last years preseason game, quite a bit of R&W in the crowd, but it was disappointing as only the Blions seemed want to win so it was not much of a spectacle. The chance to showcase the game to NRL/Soccer fans was lost.
As far as the rest of town ... they could take it or leave it. They usually have a breakfast/lunch with the local chamber of commerce which usually sells out, probably 200 odd seats.
The kids clinic has plenty of participants but they only seem to know the big names like Buddy and Goodesy. My daughter though, is a big Gary Rohan fan. The guy is great with the fans.
So, to answer your question, the vast majority of Coffs locals wouldn't be aware of the team being in town

Thanks RS, what you describe is as I expected. Re the "big names", it is one of the many benefits we gained from Goodes that we have lost with Adam's retirement. So yet another reason we hope Buddy stays healthy.
