    Injury News

    SYDNEY

Swans' doctor Nathan Gibbs revealed that Jason Ball has not only dislocated his left shoulder but also ruptured the rotator cuff, which requires immediate repair along with a shoulder reconstruction. He will have surgery this week, with rehabilitation expected to take up to four months. Reserves Amon Buchanan and Josh Thewlis also incurred long term injuries recently.

James Meiklejohn looks most likely to be the replacement for Ball in Sunday's match against Adelaide at AAMI Stadium. Lewis Roberts-Thomson is struggling with a persistent hamstring injury, and Stephen Doyle is unlikely to be considered for at least another three weeks with his long-term knee injury.
