Maybe we could get him just to sabotage his games streak so crouchy can win!

Yze would make our top 18 any week this year so of course we would take him.

Nathan Eagleton from the Western Bulldogs looks likely to be up for trade, wouldnt mind him at the swans ethier, he had a fantastic year with the doggies.

If we can work out a favourable trade then yes please.

Very classy player, and the number one reason we lost against them when we played at the SCG IMO.

He just needs a good coach, some confidence in him, and to be part of a team that cares for each other. Its not he that is soft as butter, its the whole Melbourne team (and I mean mentally). He'd be a different player at the Swans I reckon.

                Yze?

                If we can get him,

                Do we want him??

I think he will fit in well with our hard working midfield for next two years then moving into small forward role...

On a cost/benefit level, I can't really see the point.

First of all, forget getting him cheap. He will cost more in trade terms than a first round draft pick (especially ours). He will cost more than Saddington, or Fosdike, or Mathews. In short, he will cost more than anyone we would like to pay.

In addition to this, he will instantly become one of our highest paid players. Yze's pay packet would be easily in excess of that going to Barry, Kirk, Davis and Williams. He would probably be getting more than O'Loughlin and Jude Bolton. We are talking about $400,000 a year.

So. He will be expensive. What does he offer in return?

He doesn't fill an obvious need. Yes, we are a working class midfield that lacks polish. Yze's skills are far from consistent - he doesn't solve the polish problem. He will simply be another Kirk, Bolton and Williams - who while they do an admirable job, are not really in short supply.

He is 28. He will offer us maybe five years. By recruiting him, our first choice midfield will include players who are 33, 29, 29, 28, 27, 26 and 26. That's old. It also squeezes out the likes of Malceski, Willoughby, McVeigh and Moore who have actually been recruited to fill our pressing need for skilled ballwinners.

Looks to me like he'd be a trade for the sake of making a high profile trade. Aren't we over that yet?

A few weeks ago everyone was prepared to trade Pebbles for just about anyone.

Can't everyone just SHUT UP about irrelevancies until this season is over?

                      No.

You honestly think the Swans recruiting people haven't got their antennae tuned to trade news?

Okay. We could probably get Aker for Goodes, especially if he gets the Norm Smith in 72 hours. Aker would get us through the post Williams period until we can groom someone within the club to give us similar run. And who should we go for to replace Ball who will be out of the club in 72 hours? And how about Pickett to give us the hardness when Stewie is out the door at the end of the wekend, too?

Do you think the coaching staff can be secure in their jobs? Who should we drop if Cressa wants to come back to Sydney? But considering our forward line is meant to be about the strongest in the comp, there was quite a bit of underperformance there during the season so maybe we should be looking for another forward coach?

i reckon eagleton would be a good option for us. he's 26 and i dont think would cost us much as yze. he's quick and is a long penetrating kick - i wouldnt rate him that far behind heath black

plus rocket eade might be keen on saddo in a trade..............

Why would you put Williams in the same category as Kirk and Bolton? He was way above those two in his B&F years. In terms of outside midfield skills, particularly long kicking, Yze would be too. Players like Williams are hardly all over the competition.

yze would be worth a look, if the everitt rumour is true he would be good as well with ball leaving. I think spida has a couple of good years left.

Yze has class and polish and yes maybe a few flaws but you dont ignore skills like that if you can get them!
