Paul Williams: Talked about how great it was to play in such a unit and how 'Lewie' was unlucky to miss the Norm Smith and praised Roos for sticking by him.

Ben Mathews: Talked about how close the game was and praised the Eagles effort.

Paul Roos was straight from the press conference and he said it was the best moment of his career.

      The song bloody rocked!!
They all sound like positives to me

As far as I'm concerned, when you win a grand final, there are no negatives.

Just one negative I thought was the fact that there was no acknowledgement given to moore, malseski, schauble, vogels, mcveigh, etc who worked hard all year and have trained all last week even though there season was over they helped carry the boys through. May be im being picky but it took more than 22 players to win this flag.
Stuart Maxfield got ALL the reserves up on stage at Albert Park this morning. He was adamant they be recognised for their efforts through the year and for winning the flag in the ACTAFL. So while they may not have been recognised on the MCG yesterday or at Punt Rd last night or even the SCG this afternoon (I don't know on that one), they were most definitely recognised this morning.

Nothing like that at the SCG. Stuey wasn't even brought onto the stage, neither was Schaubs.

Stuart cut a very lonley figure at the airport this morning. We came in on the same plane with the team so got to have a chat and touch the cup etc. But getting off the plane he started to walk off alone - he wasn't wearing any Swans stuff - we were going to go and say something to him as all the other guys were being swamped by the media. But we got to the top of the escalators and he saw the media at the bottom, pulled out his phone and walked away. We didn't even see him at the baggage collection where all the guys were getting mobbed left and righ.
It actually seemed like a pretty sad way for him to come back into Sydney.

Sounds like his own choice to take that direction. Probably thought it might take away from the team's glory. Doubt it would have been a club decision for him not to be a part of it.

Great thing. Richard Colless made mention of the reserves on saturday night and said it was the first reserve grade flag ever won by the club in 132 years!!! Considering the injuries they had in the GF it was a great effort to get over the line. Undefeated too wasn't bad.

nah, that's actually a positive - this year's draft is supposed to be one of the weakest in years!

Better chance of sending our recruitment scouts off to find the next Vogels somewhere in the bush...

But 6 months to go till the start of season 2006 - that IS a negative!

Yes, yes. Golf clap for them all.

It was about the 22 on the field yesterday/Saturday/whenever the game was. That's just the way it is. The efforts of those who topped up the seniors this year were acknowledged in speeches both to the team and to the media preceeding the GF preso. And as someone mentioned, they were acknowledged on Sunday morning at Albert Park.

Twas a shame you were not there to see him feted by the masses, hearing kids calling out his name...

Patience is a virtue, my friend. The club is a good one and believes in the capabilities of its players. His turn will come.

Anyhoo,we scored the silverware. And I would have not changed the lineup for anything. Roosy was right. And Bevo played well: much better at the ground than seen on TV. It was worth it.

                            PUNT BLOODY ROAD!

I win the flag after 73 years yet can't get in to the big celebrations to be with my fellow supporters. To be told that it was too full inside.

People were seen kicking footies in the area. Yet we have police on horses trying to ward us away.

Did I really miss THAT much?

We got locked out too JF, missed it by about 3 minutes, saw people being let in, in front of us and then all of a sudden they stopped it, kids were v. v. disappointed. And we missed Albert Park the next day as well in order the hit the Hume at a decent hour.
