The only thing to sadden me this weekend was hearing today at the SCG that he had retired. Am sorry that he didnt go out with a premiership medallion - not sure we'll ever really know why he couldnt get a game over the last few months. A top bloke and great player. Thanks Schaubs.

Fare well Andrew Schauble - a fine clubman, a valuable player, a wonderful contributor to the team. With best wishes for the rest of your life.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

A very young retirement, and a terrific player who joined Sydney during a period of (minor) downhill slide and just never put a foot wrong for 6 years. Anyone who played for the league side this year was part of the 2005 premiership team, even if they weren't in the 22 on GF day.

Terribly sorry to see him go. Will be much missed by many.

Andrew Schauble helped mould and direct our backline to what it is today. You are a legend in my eyes. A great club man and a Swans best and fairest winner.

Congratulations on a great career. Good luck in the future Schaubs!

i think injuries had finally taken its toll on Schaubs , as it had with nickys. But what a solid and reliable player he was . we will miss schaubs. thanks champion . and good luck in whatever you do after football.

Farewell Shaubs, you were a great player and ambassador for the club. more importantly though you are an amazing human being, always thinking and doing things for others less fortunate. May you enjoy your retirement from footy but the next part of your life begins. Thanks for the memories and all the very best too you.
