Totally agree. They were not gracious. They were in pain and it showed.

Still we have to be humble in victory, ruckman .

I guess they figured they had seen the cup lifted and that was enough.

      I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I met some really nice West Coast supporters drowning their sorrows in the Cross on Saturday night. They fully acknowledged that the Swans deserved to win and congratulated me and my friends. I reassured them that their time would come - with the list West Coast have they're bound to taste success sooner or later. They're just too good.

People are people. There are good guys and bad guys in every clan. Present company excepted, I don't think Swans fans are any better or any more gracious than others. I know football certainly brings out the worst in me at times!

on the whole most around us were quite nice - however one feral WC fan thought it might be very amusing to take a photo of Ange Tammy & I looking forlorn just as WC hit the front - he turned to us and clicked and laughed his head off - so we gals are not shy flowers when it comes to things like this so when we hit the front - I poked him with my flag stick - he turned and Tammy took a photo of him - the barrage of abuse we copped was amazing - from us a very loud "you started it idiot" and the W/C guy sitting behind him gave him a serve too.

Mind you there was a older Swans fan (obviously a chardonnay sipper!!!) sitting in front of us who was mortified that we were vocal - yet her husband was carrying on like a pork chop alot worse than we were throwing his hat on the ground - jumping up and down and yelling etc - we didnt complain about him because we had no problem with it. - she seemed like quite the snob. We didnt say anything offensive - but she gave us a gob full at any opportunity (I think she was an LRT relative she gave me a serve at the end of the game about him - I just said" yep he played well, whatever you like - like you I have an opinion too - get over it - we have won lets celebrate" but she was hell bent on going - I just ignored the woman after that. But I wasnt the only one who copped it from her. Then her friend next to her was rolling her eyes all the time too so that made us get louder - I mean its the footy - if they wanted ladies to "be ladies" then go to a bloody tea party!

One of the guys behind us who was very entertaining, made a less than savoury comment - and he copped a barrage of abuse from this woman as well. To this guys credit, he went and apologised for what he said, saying he shouldnt have said it and that whilst you cant change what you said, he did regeret it. This sour woman wouldnt have a bar of it - she was very self righteous.

Needless to say at the end of the game we didnt offer hugs to those in front of us - but we were hugged by heaps of people behind us and around us. Apart from that we had a fantastic time!

im a port supporter and last year after the preliminary when the players did a lap of the oval some saint kilda supporter apparently squirted a can of coke onto Warren Tredrea's face. I can remember looking at a Saint kilda forum and this guy was so proud of it and gloated at his actions. I've hated ST. Kilda ever since.

What a tool he was, notice he picked on the girls to laugh at and not the burly blokes sitting behind us. Poor lad picked the wrong girls to poke fun at.

As others have said most of the other WCE I came across were fine. As said in another post I was surrounded by them at the parade and they were fantastic. There was one chap carrying on like a goose but he was funny, even the police were laughing at him. My 'phone went off (I have the club theme tune as my ringtone) and some of them commented about it. I told them to get used to it as they'd be hearing it quite a lot over the next few days.

IRO Saints fans, we found them to be fine. We were staying in St Kilda and the only trouble we had was with the Bunny boiler and psycho man causing trouble at the hotel.

Ange...most StKilda supporters don't live in StKilda, they can't afford to. The cluyb started in StKilda, but has not had an attachment to the suburb since it moved its home games away from the junction ovel in the 60's-70's. So staying in StKilda you probably wouldn't have any interaction with them anyway.

You weren't at the Subi-loss, the abuse I coped while I sat in my seat trying to get my head around such a heart-breaking loss. The Eagles surpporters where coming upto me slapping me on my back having a laugh at me and my friends it was the longest walk back to our car I can ever remeber, they were far from gracious that day. I think I shall remeber that loss as much as the grand final but It made the grandfinal win that little bit sweater.

This is the very reason why I try to be gracious winner because when you act like a tool it always seems to come back and bite you on the bum.

jesus, there's an awful amount of @@@@e talked on here.

i'm a great swan's fan, but my missus and all of hers are bombers fans and the copped serious verbal from red & whites everytime we've beat them in recent years. every single club has them without exception.

(my prejudice wants to say that collingwood are the worst, but i know that's bull too)

It's not @@@@e. WCE are extremely arrogant and patronising (when they win). Their automatic response now when talking about Sydney's win is " Oh! we will win in 2006". They speak as it is a given. I suspect Essendon also had that arrogant swagger a few years ago and probably deserved what they got.
The only thing that is @@@@e is your grammar and spelling
