I agree with the majority in here and think that anything below top four will be disappointing. Ball is a huge loss, but with our younger guys continuing to improve and some even younger ones to play at least a handful of games, it should be a good year.
What is an acceptable finish for the Swans in 2006

Interesting in that article for me was the first mention I've seen about Craig Bolton being close to AA selection this year. Our quietest of quiet achievers.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Only another premiership is acceptable. At this stage I see no reason why we cant win another one in 2006, given the loss of very few players through retirement. Its time to instill some new thinking in this team and club; that anything less than the ultimate prize is unacceptable.Occupational hazards:

I think we should aim to win all games in Sydney and finish top 2, have 2 home finals and win the flag the easy way. Injuries will determine the eventual outcome as we are susceptible in defence and the ruck. If we stay fit in these areas, one or 2 midfielders step up and we find another ruckman, anything is possible. Fairer umpiring would also help. I am insulted that we have already been written off. The team craves respect, wins the flag to get it and still it doesn't come!! I hope they use this as incentive to spur them on next year.---------||--ANNE--||----------Comment

Same as this season, aim at top 8 then when that is secure, top 4 and then beyond. Another flag will be very difficult but if any team has the heart to do it it's the swans.Comment

It kind of backfires when you get thumped by a hack team like Port at home in your most important game of the yearOur Greatest Moment:

Another preliminary final. If we can play in lots of prelims, one year in four we will win the flag.
We must remember another premiership isn't a given. The Eagles and Saints will do better next year. The Cats will improve. And we will spend the whole home and away season next year playing as the Reigning Premiers."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

top 4 finish - i see no reason why we cant go back to back, just watch the medal presentation again and you'll see that we have a great mix of players who could bring the cup back to sydney again
but i agree about injuries being a major factor and how we go in the trade periodRoosy = LEGENDComment

I think we will be in the mix with west coast adelaide geelong stkilda port might be back.
If we dont win id like to see the cats win it or the dogs.
I see no reason we cant win again we have many players who can only improve who were important on the weekend. We also have players outside the grand final team who are going to come good.
We need to replace ball and maybe pick up another player in a trade who can slot straight in with about 50-100 games experience at least.
I think we will play finals football for the next 2-3 years at least!Theres not much left to sayComment
