i predicted the OOTF would be the focus for some...

what did we think of Stuey's shocking turnover on the wing?

What did we think of Schauble's very poor attempt at 'tapping' the ball down to a teammate in the defensive 50?

i could go on and on and on...

    very predictable.

    very good win too.

Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

That was terrible - could have been very costly if Lynch had goaled. Maxfield seemed to have trouble finding targets yesterday.

Still, it's good to see we can win despite these mistakes. Just shows how well our team game worked.

Why make such a point about the bloopers. For goodness sake the pressure on them all to play such a vital game and do everything perfect yesterday was incredible. They played fast and ran hard and won that is all that matters to me.
        Love those Swans

The Lions blocked up our defensive 50 very well for kick in. We were too scared to take a massive risk on those as a turnover would be an almost certain goal, which is fair enough.

Matthews continually took far too long on his disposals, he would wait for the perfect option which rarely arrives when yo play the bears and then kick it long to a pack which being a team of big men is a speciallty of theirs.

Whenever Leo got the footy my heart would skip a beat, maybe two. He jumps and looks and then runs circles around them but if you play with fire you get burnt, eg: OOBOTF to Bolton. But that step around the man on the mark was masterful. He is dynamite off the mark, all he needs is to not run like a headless chook and buy himself a right foot.

Craig Bolton seemed to be down a bit. He dropped one certain sitter, but recovered somehow, and seemed rushed with his disposals sometimes. As did Fozzy, he rushes himself, gets rid of a shoka of a kick when another two/three steps to steady were in order.

Isn't it great that we can play that sort of wild footy and still beat the dual Premiers? How can you put that into perspective?

Lions can bemoan that Vossy was crook and Browny was out and all that, but the Swans can say well for almost half of the game we were pedestrian and made some basic errors.

It does show one thing and that is that when we had our chances in the first two quarters and then in the last 10 minutes of the game, we took them and we buried the opposition.

Would a Rodney Eade team have capitulated yesterday? Rodney has never beaten Lee Matthews!

I don't care who made the blunders or what they did really - all of these types of things are skill errors that will get better with confidence and practice. Roosy left Crouchy on the field when he should have been dragged. Ended up sealing the game with an into the wind goal. Confidence is a wonderful thing. Thankyou Paul Roos for having confidence. They will stuff up and will make poor decisions but will normally make up for it..... or at least try. A player coming off the bench will not try to cover for the other blokes mistake. Therefore the whole team lifted and fought back against one of the best finishing side of the current era. We have burst their bubble and found them wanting. The rest is history. (Obviously Leo has to make up for his blunders next week...... )

People don't seem to get my point on Leo. Everyone says if you are going to play a dangerous exciting game then mistakes happen, and I concur with this view. My problem with two of Leo's errors is they were simple cross-goal kicks to unmarked men when Leo had a mark and was under absolutely no pressure. You should not make simple basic mistakes like that.

They're not exactly the same as Crouch bursting through a pack and kicking wildly or Kennelly doing the same and handballing to a contest.

These sorts of things should improve and can be forgiven. Unforced errors less so.

Just because we won should we simply ignore those basic mistakes? Imagine if Leo's turnovers cost us the game, which they quite easily could have?

I thought Leo had a good game except for that kick out of bounds on the full. Let's be happy with the win. There were lots of other players that turned the ball over. I thought Leo, once again, provided a lot of run out of the backline (which Gerard Healy and Dermot Brereton commented on). I thought he sort of made up with his bad kick when he run out of the backline and set up the goal for Jason Ball. Leo does set up a lot of play from the backline and if at times it comes with a mistake or two it does not worry me. Anyway, I think we should all be happy with the win and if we made mistakes and still managed to beat Brisbane, we can only improve.

Did I not say last week that Leo makes far too many mistakes, he nearly lost us the game, Crouch redeemed himself, Leo didn't.

Seems like you're only looking at what they do AFTER a mistake....what about the good work that is done in a game up to the point BEFORE the mistake is made? IMHO you need to look at how someone has played across the ENTIRE game, not just when they have made a mistake and what follows from there.

Hey Plugger 46 another scalp on crouch's belt ?

After Moorecroft (who you said you could beat), he's done the job
on matchwinners like didak and Aker.(who got dragged)

And just like I said, he is a good shot for goal from a set shot.

Another one of your targets Matthews, was again brilliant.

He's not my favourite player, but he'll do me.

At least I saw your lovechild Warfe kick to a red jumper for a change

Is Barry Hall missing a set shot from about 40m out on a decent angle towards the end of the third quarter (or any other player missing a gettable kick for that matter) any better or worse than Leo's OOBOTF? Not defending that skill error, but missing easy set shots on goal is just as costly in terms of the score but doesn't seem to get singled out as much as bloopers such as Leo's.

Yep - Hall missing a couple of gettable shots is nearly as bad. Still, I think a shot from 40m has more pressure than a simple pass to an unmarked player.
