It was bloody terrific actually. Another proud day for the red and the white. Today Sydney has given the team something else they will never forget.

That looked fantastic. Hopefully they put some of it on the 3 CD set.

Back home from the parade, about 10-15 deep from the baricades back to the footpath opposite town hall very suprised with the turn out and the amount of Red and White and great atmosphere.
As for the speeches at least they seemed to know what they are on about, but to Clover Moore who gives a stuff about the Tigers and them getting a tickertape parade if they win

Originally posted by Mike_B The premier's speech was full of cliches - if it wasn't quoting something Roos had said in one of his speeches, he was quoting lines from the club song. At least he sounded passionate though, and he did say that the best trophy in Australian sport was in Sydney's hands, so at least that makes up for the cliches somewhat...
His cliches were not anywhere near as bad as those said by Sandy Sully. For somebody who DOES actually have a brain, she sounded like such a bimbo up on stage. Pretty embarrassing.
Iemma looked very confortable in his new Red & White scarf. I wonder if the club can make a concerted effort to get him to drop the Pies and become a fully-fledged Swan.
If it is good enough for his deity Mr Hatley, it should be good enough for the mere mortal Premier of NSW.

PS:- I begs to lead the Wests Tigers ticker-tape parade through the streets of Leumeah. Anyone who can hit Scott Prince with an empty can gets a free replacement VB can.

I'm getting really sick of all this AFL v NRL bull********. There is absolutely nothing wrong with people supporting both codes.
I reckon the Balmain/Wests/Wests Magpies supporters in Sydney who just like the Bloods/South Melbourne/Sydney Swans supporters, have followed their teams through droughts and tough times might give a stuff.
Bagging her for mentioning the 'other' code in Sydney and wishing them the best is just looking for something to moan about.
Not a AFL vs NRL thing, as mentioned previously I support both codes, but mentioning the NRL during a tickertape parade for the Swans just seemed out of place, there is a time and place for everything
