    I don't have any factual information to back this up - but I have a strong feeling that despite his obvious dream to win an All-Ireland, I think a lot of his comments are aimed at his home country and what he thinks they want to hear.

    I really don't think he will return home until he retires from AFL, and I don't think that will be until he is around 30. He is really setting up the rest of his life at the moment and doesn't seem to upset in doing it!

    Growing up in Tassie - you got used to Tasmanian AFL players talking up returning home to play in the TFL (when it was a strong comp) at some point everytime they spoke to the Tassie media, but rarely doing so unless they were forced into it.

        I would think he'd be closer to making a decision after his forthcoming trip home. You can take the boy out of Ireland, but can you ever really take Ireland out of the boy?

        And PS: He'd have to be one of the most highly paid students in the nation! Of course you'd buy a house on that kind of salary. It's called investment.

            The average age to retire is maybe 30 ? 32. The thing is most boys here have been playing senior football since they were about 18, involved with Club, maybe U18, U21 and senior, County ? minor/u21/ senior. Schools in up to three or four competitions, so it takes its toll on the body, I also think that some of you boys underestimate the fitness levels required to play Gaelic, the best of our boys more than matched pros last year, the only advantage the Aussies had was strength, now its not really a factor as weight programmes are used more in Gaelic. I think if he wanted to play at the peak of his powers and be influential with Kerry, it would have to be done in the next few years. But I am off to the Irish training tomorrow morning, I?ll ask him then?
