i cant see port making an impact at all
very ageing list and not much coming through youth wise

we need to have the same dream run with injuries next season to have the best chance

I spoke to Leo on Friday night and asked what he thought of back to back? He said that, if we have a good run with injuries then why not? They are certainly thinking of it.

I concur - we should aim for top 4 and then see what happens.

And I wouldn't be surprised if we decided we have the talent after all and open our game up a bit - like the Saints final. If we continue to control the pace of every game we play then other teams are going to be very worried about playing us in 2006.

Every team will be worrying about playing us in 2006 because we're the reigning premiers.

And for all the reasons that we're premiers we'll give the top 4 a shake next year.

Having a reasonable season with injury I feel we will finish in
the top four. At this stage, we have lost only Bally thru
retirement so the premeirship side could be intact for 2006.
The tough finals run of 2005 could play in our favour here as
all know what to expect and how they got to be Premiers.

                Top 4 would be fantastic!
A lot of people will be studying our game plan and gunning for us (STK, CATS, WC). Will be interesting to see how Roos adjusts. Guess the opposition can study all they like but you can't manufacture the spirit of the bloods.......
I would like to see a LOT more comfortable wins tho' not sure the ticker can cope with repeats of Crows, Wiggles x 2 and Geelong!

rather, excited at the prospect at knocking the reigning premiers off i suspect.

it'll be a difficult 1st half of the year no matter what happens, IMO, but ill back us for a top four spot without doubt.

Yes, there was an attitude out there that we were such a crap side. Then we win the premiership. (God it's good typing that.) So are we any good? Nope, to many oppositions fans we're a crap side that won a flag. No respect, I tell you, no respect! So of course they're looking forward to knocking us off, they still think we're crap. Of course, some sides next year would have better luck knocking off the swans at Albert Park lake next year than the Sydney Swans, Reigning Premiers.

Our chances next year? We have a good draw (but not as good as Essendon's), so we should make the finals, are a decent chance at top four and about a 4-1 or 5-1 chance at next year's flag.

Realisticly to win the premiership we will need to finish top 2.

I just can't see us beating a full strength St Kilda at the "G" or West Coast at "Subi" in the PF. Homefield advantage will be important next year as those two teams (esp St Kilda) will be right in the middle of their premiership cycle.

But if we finish top 4 and get ourselves into a PF you just never know what might happen on the day.

With the draw we have and the hopefull addition of Spida to fill the void of Ball we will be around top 4 all going to plan.
