Plus we've had a remarkable recent run of good luck with lack of injuries to our key defenders - this can't last forever.

At the dinner on Friday I asked Leo if he'd like a tall down the back to free him up. He said he'd love it but couldn't see it happening. He guessed that he'd still be on the best forward each week. Maybe he's wrong and we may be able to open up our back structure a bit now?

          Im satisfied with this.

We now have depth in the ruck division and depth of tall(ish) defenders, with Leo, Bolts, LRT and Richards all able to take on tall forwards. And we've given very little away (only a handful of somewhat useless draft picks) to bolster these areas.

We have a whole heap of promising midfielders in our team.

We have the best forward line in the comp.

          We have a premiership.

We have the Ricky Barham rule!

          Its all good!

Still one trade to go, I reckon, which I think will be the Saddo for draft pick(s). If we pull this one off we will have done very well.

                  Yeah, for sure.

I'm really surprised how many trades have already been completed this week. Normally its just all hot air until 5 minutes before the deadline, and inevitably someone gets screwed by a busy fax machine.

Good summary. Just these couple of extra talls may set up the balance we need.

Do you reckon that, with all the money the club has saved on Spida that it will shout us all Swans Carlton Draft at the SCG over the summer?

If Sheedy is the master how well did Matthew Allan, Justin Murphy and Damian Cupido travel? Don't assume you automatically get dudded by Sheedy - Roosy is not a silly duffer himself and neither is Barham!

                        Suits me.

Actually, Carlton Draft should take over sponsorship from NAB for the AFL draft. The Carlton Draft Draft. Sounds like you're drunk already!

The money saved on Spida will help pay for the pay rise to Ryan O'Keefe

I think it's excellent news. Essentially we've picked up Richards for pick #19. Looks to be a capable tall backman. Much of the draft is a lottery anyway.

Agree - would like to think we could get a 2nd round pick for Saddo. First pick in the 50s would limit our options.
