In a unique initiative the Sydney Swans are looking to "time capsule" the sentiments of supporters following the Club's historic 2005 AFL Premiership victory.
Swans Chairman Richard Colless said: "This premiership has been 72 years in the making and the idea for a "time capsule" came about after we received many letters of congratulations from supporters not only in Australia but from all around the world.
"Obviously the Swans premiership victory has touched a great many people as the letters have been extremely heartfelt and passionate. As a result we thought it would be a great idea to encapsulate the moment by encouraging all of our supporters to document their thoughts and send those sentiments to the Club."
To this end the Sydney Swans are encouraging all supporters to write, in 200-words or less, their deepest thoughts on the Grand Final and what this momentous victory meant to them personally.
The Club intends to collate all letters and store them for the future with a selection to be included in a future edition of the Swans Magazine. These letters will also be posted on the Sydney Swans website www.sydneyswans.com.au.
Letters should be forwarded to [email protected] or via mail to Swans Media P.O Box 173 Paddington, NSW 2021.
