Dunno if it was the same one but there was a passage of play late in the game that went:
O'Keefe running along the wing, handball into Buchanan about 30 out, skip round a Irishman, got a little lost then handball to Davis who then kicked an over from about 25 out.

Davis (also late in the game) tried to barge thru 4 Irishmen which is the last thing you want to do considering if you're tackled for 1 second you get pinged. Oh and he was at the front of celebrations being a galah again.....lol

The team looked to really embrace the game and the belief in each other was amazing. Seeing all these players from different teams actually work well together and enjoy it was quite a sight.

No wonder there's so many Collingwood fans.

I thought McLeod, Hodge and Newman were the best overall. Davis was the pick of the Swans, he moved well and was pretty classy. I thought ROK did some costly things and Buchanan was like a little terrier.

              Was a good game.

Sheedy >> Lyon. Simple things like manning up before a shot at goal.

I've always wondered why the Aussies had so much trouble with the round ball. Now I know. They were just lazy. These guys last night obviously put in a few weeks practice, and they were as good as the irish.

Aussie umpire crucified the irish. I'd hate to see the free kick count. It was embarrasing.

Aussies played swans style "flood" and worked well. I bet all the other team supporters are now calling it a great tactic.

Irish seemed like they'd been on the guiness all day. Hopefully a better showing next week.

God I hate Ch 9. They said telecast started at 12:10am. More like 12:50am. Game didnt start till 1am finishing at 3am.

I know, I was waiting, as it was advertised to start at 12:10 and started about 30+minutes late.

God I just hope ch9 don't get the AFL rights!!

Agreed! cos SBS pulled out of the 9 bid with them televising the friday night games into NSW ACT QLD!

But even then the commentary was of poor standard, the camerawork at the beginning was pathetic and the interviewer/boundary(sideline) reporter always seemed to grab a player at the wrong time.
He got Sheedy when they were waiting to take the team photo, McLeod when they were waiting for him so they could all link arms and sing the national anthem in the middle of Subi after the win and some young bloke just when they were taking the after match team photo. W***er!

The commentators actually sais that they"would get numbers behind the ball". I can't understand how it is flooding when the Swans do it, but anyone else is getting numbers behind the ball.

That would be Dale Morris. GUN! He was not on the Western Bulldogs senior list at the beginning of the season, managed to get 17 games, and scored a spot in the Aussie team. A brilliant story. Consequently, being that bandwagoning is apparently so Sydney, I have decided to start the Dale Morris bandwagon. All aboard!

A lot of the Bulldogs' young running brigade are really suited to this fast game - Morris, Giansiracusa, Gilbee all did well, that's the way they've played all year in the AFL!

Of the Swans, they all did OK without starring. O'Keefe looked a little rusty but he and Davis combined brilliantly at times. And how good was Monty's kick that led to the Lovett goal?

I like the game, it's a "concept" that judging by the crowds it's attracted (39,000 at Subi last night), has been warmly embraced. I'm sure Game 2 will get a much bigger crowd than the ICC World XI fizzer at Telstra Dome a couple of weeks back Now there's a "concept" that badly needs some tweaking...

That was very enjoyable to watch.

Swannees were great (Particularly Davo and Ryan). Giansiracusa was brilliant, as was Mcleod and Dale Morris. Thought Deledio turned it over a lot but man is he fast.

Loved the Anthem - although it isn't very inspiring (unlike Cheer Cheer).

I think Amon should be renamed Oscar - his performances at going down deserve one......

A 10pm start would have been acceptable, but then, if you were taking any notice of the news, they gave the bloody result away anyway.

I think the problem appears to be with 9 in Sydney. In Melbourne last night the Rugby League followed the International Rules immediately.

I reckon all of you Sydney based Sydney supporters need to get into channel 9 and flood them with complaints...clog up their email system....flood their telephones with them. But it is up to you...see if you can make a difference.
