    "Sensational Swans" DVD

I couldn't wait, so I bought it yesterday. I loved the extra footage of the grand final week, but I was very annoyed when they said Jude Bolton held Nick Riewoldt in the PF. They listed him in the best and Craig got no mention. Pretty stupid mistake, IMHO.

I don't think I saw Leo once on the footage.
B2 was only seen when he busted through the middle and kicked to MO'L.
And what's with the commentator calling Kennelly 'KEN-elly'?
And you can't find nothing at all,
If there was nothing there all along.

I don't know why they didn't stick with calling the DVD "Bloodstained Angels", as some reports suggested. It would have been perfect - Kirk in the PF, B1 in the GF, even Roosy bled from a cut inflicted by the premiership cup!

(I didn't see it, but Roosy is heard to say. "Yeah, I've been cut" - I assume this was from the cup, didn't see any other metallic objects on the dais!)

Yeah it was the cup .. he's mentioned previously. But let's cut these guys some slack - the ones who do the DVDs that is. They'll never see it the way the fans want it. And to have it in all its glory at all, is pretty special.

The 2003 had Channel 9 all over it, so the main focus was on games shown on Channel 9, with stories like the one on Nick Davis that Channel 9 had done during the season

This one is not done by Channel 9....This one has every game...shows the highlights...gives a little bit of a summary (former Channel 7 sports reporter Stephen Phillips) and then lists goalkickers, best players and key Brownlow votegetters. Instead of any interviews with Roos it makes use of his comments at press conferences

On the whole I think it was great...i did miss the side stories and the specific questions to Roos that were in the 2003 version, e.g. when he commented on Maxfield's captaincy and the emergence of Schneider and LRT

Thanks IAG - sounds as if it's worth getting. I didn't get the 2003 one because of a negative review on here.
Wouldn't you think that the compilers might do a bit of research on websites like ours to get a few hints?

yeah i couldnt wait so i bought it this morning and its fair to say that i'm bloody impressed - the footage at the beginning of the celebrations at punt rd are excellent - it also has barry hall's and roosy's speech after the GF

quite easily the best DVD purchase i have ever made

i'm up to the geelong final at the moment and i thought it was quite funny in the WC qualifying final at the end

steve quartermaine shouts out "one last roll of the dice for the swans" as the ball is kicked inside 50 by craig bolton at the death and bloody dean cox marks it - oh the irony

i think the footy gods were shining on us for sure as we got our revenge a few weeks later

I love that we finally have footage of the "D-I-S-C-O" moment at Punt Rd, and the slow-motion sequence at the end is brilliant. Didn't give the defenders enough praise, though: for the most part it was a collection of goals. I would have loved to have seen LRT's two smothers in a row.

Oh yeah! Especially as the same caller says "One last roll of the dice for the Eagles" just before Cox kicks it to Leo in the GF!

But I guess everyone must know that call off by heart, by now.

Santa should be kind to us all considering he's quite obviously a Swans supporter.

I know there's a couple of threads going about Swans DVDs, but decided to bump this one because it relates to the "Sensational Swans" DVD...

I bought this today - nice work!

Glad to see this one was longer than the 2003 one, including all 22 rounds was a great idea. Even some of the games we lost, like the Richmond one and the QF, had passages of play that were worth including. A pretty good compilation of clips. Love the intro sequence at the beginning with all the GF celebrations/arriving home/the parade.

Oh, and this was the first time I'd heard what Demetriou actually said about the Swans' gameplan, as I only read about his comments in the paper at the time. Glad they included that, makes him look like an even bigger tool!

I would have bought the 5-disc victory pack, but I don't really want to watch the QF again, and I already have the only quarter of the SF worth watching again on DVD transferred from tape.

Plus the highlights DVD has the best bits of the PF on it, and I already have the GF DVD.

They're not getting any more of my money.
