Here is the 'permission to train' list published Monday. 'Permission to train' is a strange idea: I can only guess it means that if your contract with any club (AFL or non-AFL) hasn't yet expired, you need to get that club's permission to train elsewhere... even if they've delisted you! Although on that interpretation, we can only guess why Fremantle had to ask its own permission to allow 2 youngsters to train with it.
There is no-one training with Sydney who will be taken in Saturday's draft (barring a shock)-- they're all potential rookies. I'm not dissing their ability, but there is zero interest (that I'm aware of) in any of them from interstate clubs, so there's no need to draft them onto the senior list to stop 'em being taken later in the draft.
I guess that Sydney has taken the very sensible approach that there's no point flying every potential pick up to train when there's such a high probability we won't get 'em. We need to have at least 8 or so players that we might select on our draft list, in order to be sure that 3 are available come pickin' time. For example, Tasmanian Sam Iles (surely his nickname will have to be 'Apple') spent time up in Sydney during the year, but it's a 50/50 as to whether he'll go before our first pick.
Don't see ROK's name anywhere on the 'permission to train' list, either...Comment

There's no-one of interest training with us probably coz we started training last, and any guy wanting to impress a club during this period would have wanted more time to do so. By the time we started training, they would have already found anothber club elsewhere to go to train.Visit my eBay store -

The way they play football mostly comprises of circle work (generally with the circles not extending past their defensive side of the centre line) so it is probably an appropriate way for them to train.Originally posted by giant
Gee it must be crowded at Hawthorn training. I imagine they just do circle work for the whole session.Comment

I have no doubts that a number of players have been up to Sydney and had a run prior to the draft but they mightn't necessarily be on that "permission to train list" if you know what I mean.
Have faith in the recruiting team.
