Farewell Andrew Schauble

As some of you would be aware, I've been a big fan of Andrew Schauble and his exclusion from the team for most of 2005 was one of the season's dissappointments for me. The least I can do as a farewell guesture to this great player and top bloke is post a link to this farewell article on the Swans website.

Another Pies recruit success story! Shame he went out the way he did but the fact he came so close to playing in the GF is evidence he was an important member of our 2005 premiership squad.

Good luck to him in the "next phase of his life" whatever that might mean.

One of my favourite swans. I too was perplexed that he didnt get much game time in 2005, but I guess the performances of Leo Barry and LRT in the grand final justified Roos' lockdown on FB and CHB.

Schaubs was a top footballer and seems like a terrific bloke. A very young retiree as well.

On the bright side, did anyone notice that he was draft selection #66?

All 3 of our picks this year are higher than that-- if we can pick up 3 guys who contribute as much to the club as Andrew Schauble did, Ricky Barham should pick up either:
a) a lotto ticket, or
b) a knighthood.

Gotta agree with you all on Schaubs, great bloke, and a great footballer. Good honest and hard working in defence...just what we always needed.

What a champion guy - heart in the right place and a wonderful influence around the club not to mention a rock of defence and always loved his sneaky little forays into the forward 50 to kick a goal or 2.
(I also think he's a bit of a handsome devil )

He certainly got passed the "no @@@@heads" rule.
