    Farewell Andrew Schauble

As some of you would be aware, I've been a big fan of Andrew Schauble and his exclusion from the team for most of 2005 was one of the season's dissappointments for me. The least I can do as a farewell guesture to this great player and top bloke is post a link to this farewell article on the Swans website.

All the best to you Schaub's in whatever you do.

Another Pies recruit success story! Shame he went out the way he did but the fact he came so close to playing in the GF is evidence he was an important member of our 2005 premiership squad.

Good luck to him in the "next phase of his life" whatever that might mean.

One of my favourite swans. I too was perplexed that he didnt get much game time in 2005, but I guess the performances of Leo Barry and LRT in the grand final justified Roos' lockdown on FB and CHB.

Good luck Schaubs. We'll miss you.

        Preach it.

Good luck Schaubes. A champion bloke and a great Swannies backline general.

Schaubs was a top footballer and seems like a terrific bloke. A very young retiree as well.

On the bright side, did anyone notice that he was draft selection #66?

All 3 of our picks this year are higher than that-- if we can pick up 3 guys who contribute as much to the club as Andrew Schauble did, Ricky Barham should pick up either:
          a) a lotto ticket, or
          b) a knighthood.

Gotta agree with you all on Schaubs, great bloke, and a great footballer. Good honest and hard working in defence...just what we always needed.

Good luck in your life after football.

What a champion guy - heart in the right place and a wonderful influence around the club not to mention a rock of defence and always loved his sneaky little forays into the forward 50 to kick a goal or 2.
              (I also think he's a bit of a handsome devil )

One of my favourite players as well, it was disappointing that he missed the GF as he probably didn't have alot of opportunities this year.

                  Best of luck, Schaubs.

His speech at the B&F was lovely. So honest, so heartfelt.
He's a super nice guy and will enjoy travelling around the world before he has to decide whatever comes next.

Well done Schaubs, Lynch was your lunch, not too many other full backs could say that. And just as telling a contribution off the field.
All the best for the (many) years to come.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

                        Onya Schaubs.

Good luck in the new life! I'm sure that he has his head screwed on well to take up a world outside the game.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

He certainly got passed the "no @@@@heads" rule.

Hopefully some of the younger blokes have learnt a lot from him - great role model - dodgy hammys.

Well done Schaubs on a great career.
