No-one meant that - what was meant was that he would not renew next year - as he has already stated

[QUOTE]Our opinions have pretty much never mattered. Absolutely right that family is way bigger than footy. However, we can't possibly know whether it will make him more or less likely to go home after his contract expires.

It doesn't matter & we shouldn't even think about it. To do so put's our own interests before his. I will support whatever decision Taghd makes, but I'm sure footy is the furthest thing from his mind. (and it should be). To spend Christmas without your dad.....I can't even put it into words

I'm fully aware that Tadhg has more important things to think about... but this is a little silly.

Very sad news. Unless you have lost your father, you won't have any clue what he's feeling.

It's probably the hardest thing a male will ever experience especially if he was close to his Dad. To lose him suddenly is even harder.

Especially a few weeks before Christmas. Devastating.

If he comes back to Australia, It won't be as difficult because his father was not part of his day to day life. However at home will be a different story.

All you have left are the memories and your father will live on in your dreams. You cherish those dreams.

I lost my Dad last year. I'm 44 and he was a very fit and healthy 79 year old. Doesn't make it any easier no matter what age you are.

My deepest sympathy to Tadgh and his family. From glory to loss.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

Very saddening news. Our thoughts are with Tadhg and the rest of the family.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I agree with you Bas, I'm 43 and my Dad died when I was 4, it was sad not having grown up with my biological Father all those years, but I have a wonderful Dad, who was my Father's best mate. Some years after my Father died, Mum remarried, and "Dad" has been great. But nothing can replace not having my Father around during my developmental years. For Tadhg, it is sad, because nothing can replace not having your Dad around, but it makes it even more special that Tim came out to see his 100th AFL game and the Grand Final victory. Hang in there Tadhg, it's tough, but you have many people who love you and are supporting you at this time.

Tim was an absolute legend in Ireland. He was on the Kerry team of the 70's, they won 4 All-Irelands in a row. (Never equalled and never likely to be) The greatest team in Gaelic Footballs history and comprised of some of the greatest players.

I think Tadhg will come home, if not now then after his contract is up. Winning an All-Ireland is not going to be easy, thats even if Kerry will put him on the team.

deepest sympathy to the Kennelly family - the first christmas, birthdays etc after the loss of your Dad (or Mum) is always the hardest, the next few months will be a bit of a blur for Tadhg (those of us who have gone through it can relate to it) but family is first and foremost, the rest doesnt matter. Tadgh will need time to grieve and make decisions which at the end of the day are none of our business. If he goes back to Ireland, which if it was me, I would, then he will be doing the right thing.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Terribly sad news certainly my thoughts go out to Tadgh and his family at this time, 51 is far too young but sadly death is something that can strike at any time.

Yes, let's stop pretending to know what Tadgh will or won't do, and simply wish him and his family all the best at this difficult time.

                          RIP Tim.

Very sad news indeed, my farher died at 54 years of age, 20 years ago and I still miss him. But in future years Tadhg will be so grateful that his father was there to see him win the big one.
