I believe that Baz intimidates opposition week in week out. He is incredibly hard to match up on as is tall, fast, and incredibly mobile. He is also not backward about getting in the oppositions? face. Particularly if he has just failed to get a free kick and in the next phase kicks a goal. It?s especially fun to watch when he is matched up against some poor 2nd/3rd year CHB.

His mere presence on the ground is intimidating to the opposition as they know he rarely gets beaten.

In the 4 finals, he had 2 relatively quiet ones and then 2 where he played more like his usual game we have come to know.

If controlled aggression is a whack on Maguire, which nearly cost him a grand final spot, and the two coathangers on Wirrapunda then I can only state that he doesn?t do that every week nor would I like to see him do it every week.

Borders on the stupid, undisciplined player he was a STK. Having now been found guilty by the tribunal for whack on Maguire, he now has a prior on his record which will count if he gets cited and lead to a high probability of suspension in the future.

I wonder if it was a flash back when he saw all those red white and black jumpers again. If he had been suspended for that he wouldn't be the first to get suspended for an incident against his old team.

I've always said the main thing stopping Hall from becoming clearly the dominant CHF/FF of the AFL and one of the best of his era, is his limited ability to mark overhead. Hopefully, this limitation will disappear next year and we will reap the benefits!

If what he was saying is right, he couldn't see the ball clearly at arms length, so I think you are right in thinking that this operation should make the difference and allow him to step up to the next level.

BTW has a CHF ever kicked 100 goals in a season?

Carey kicked 82 and 80. Hall is not a true CHF though - he tends to float between CHF and FF.

You weren't exactly Robin Crusoe in saying that but if his marking can improve significantly it will make him almost ustoppable.
Similarly if Dempster's eyesight also improves we may well see him make greater use of his extremely long kicking.

I certainly don't condone him hitting people (outside of the odd holding the jumper punch 'cause it seems a punch ain't a punch in aussie rules when you've a handful of jumper), but I thought there were instances throughout the year when players marking him showed absolutely no fear of him at all, best example being the mighty curly-haired cat. I can't remember exactly who it was either, but there was a youngster on him at one stage who even had a jersey tug-of-war with him in one match instead of lying down in a quivering mess of his own piss like he should have. I certainly don't wish to give the impression that Baz is going soft or that he needs to improve his game, but I think that extra bit of body-on-body from him at the right time would be good. In saying that, if he's marking the ball and kicking goals who gives a damn really!?!

On a slightly different tangent I find it bizarre you can belt a bloke as much as you like if you have a handful of jumper, but the slightest touch otherwise is reportable!!

It all depends whether you go down or not doesn't it? It shouldn't but that's what appears to happen. If in the PF Goodes had taken a dive when he was punched, his opponent (I think it was Powell) may have been suspended. As it was the punch seemed to be of similar force to Bazza's, but no report, and as you said Bloods, the so-called jumper punches are even worse, hit 'em as hard as you want as long as you are hanging on to a handful of jumper.
