I doubt that, because on Sunday Ch 7 will show News at 6:00 p.m. So any game they will be showing after the first one as highlights and not full. On the other hand they could schedule the first game as somebody suggested at 12:30 or something, trying to fit both games to finish before 6 p.m.
    Lets' wait and see.

Not 100% but i believe the set up in melbourne will be the same as it has been with the 9/10 deal delay on friday ch7, delay sat arvo ch10 (this might be highlights), live sat nite Ch 10 (unless in melbourne which will be slightly delayed and 2 games sunday on Ch7. But this could and probably will change when foxtel get involved. The sunday arvo will not be as much of a concern as we have only 4 sunday matches this year if im not mistaken

The Ch 7/Ch 10 deal starts in 2007, so the games will be scheduled anew to fit those new TV rights agreement.

It will end up the same as this deal, I have no doubt. The 'AFL' States will only have to remember to turn to 7 instead of 9.

The biggest changes will be live AFL available to Sydney and Brisbane via Pay TV on Friday nights, and the possiblity of Sydney and Brisbane getting both games on the Sunday which is currently impossible with Channel 9 (Even though I don't think they will want AFL leading into Sydney news)

I agree, the deal mean AFL is most important factor for ch7/10 for NSW/QLD.

ch7 will have 2 games in NSW/QLD on sunday no doubt.

What I hear for sunday could be a whole live early game followed by a live 2nd half game following.

Or unlikely but for Melbourne/Adel they could have a early live game and a late game where first half ends at 6pm then go to 7news (15min) then go to second half.

HOORAY HOORAY HOORAY - I am very pleased indeed Ch7/10 won the rights - I hate 1.10 pm Sunday time slot.
Think Bruce McAvaney is heaps better to listen to than McGuire - and hope Collingwood get a raw deal from CH7/10 because they get get so much damn coverage now - it makes me puke.

Channel 7/10 winning have started 2006 off in a great way.
              Love those Swans

I wouldn't get your hopes up about 2pm Sunday Afternoon matches coming back just yet. As stated above Ch 7 use to show Swans matches on Sunday's at 12.40pm, so its not like they will want to badly go with a 2pm start.

After paying out as much cash as they have there is no way that they will edit the coverage of the second Sunday match to anything less than 2 hours. So regardless of what Sydney-siders would like to see, 1pm starts are likely to stay.

Its quite possible that Ch 7 will stay with the 1 pm start and then follow it with a 4pm twlight match with the News at 7pm leading into their Prime Time Drama coverage (which is tipped to see LOST move to Sunday Nights) nationwide. Effective use of the timeslots if you ask me.
                Once was, now elsewhere

The 1.00 pm start has grown on me. It can be a bit tight getting to the games but it more than makes up for it after the game. Plenty of time to get home when there's still light, the possibility of kick to kick after the game knowing you've got some time up your sleeve.....it's almost like form of daylight saving in winter.
Time will tell whether the 7/10 consortium will do the right thing by the northern states....I reckon Ten's been OK and maybe Seven will start showing a Thursday night footy show at a decent hour now that it's back in the fold. If you remember back, Seven used to have a Monday night spot, a Thursday night and Sunday morning....who knows, we might get all that back.

                      AFL Reveals asset buying plan

In other major developments from the TV rights deal:

The AFL chief confirmed that, having matched Nine's bid, Seven and Ten were now contractually committed to eight games on free-to-air television and live broadcasts into Brisbane and Sydney on Friday and Saturday nights, although the deal allowed them to negotiate a pay-TV carrier, such as current broadcaster Foxtel, subject to AFL approval.

The problem was that they were all crap shows...pale imitations of the AFL footy show on nine...that's why they kept changing names and timeslots

Just saw on the cover of the HUN that next season there will be a Sunday 5.00pm match every week. What a stupid time for country people and those with children I can understand if it was Saturday night, but Sunday night...how stupid is that?

Can any Melbourne fans remember 7's coverage of Swans games. If Swans played interstate or another interstate team at home, it wasn't covered (or they showed highlights of 1 qtr). It was crap. Happy Bruce is back but I didn't miss 7 at all!!!!!!

Fox Footy changed that. Not Channel Nine.
