They may be negative but at least they're not full of cliches and motherhood statements!

Premierships are like birthdays - you may as well drag it out for all it's worth. I hope it's not all downhill from here. They do play well when they're full of confidence and after last year they certainly should be!

I'm still just as excited about the premiership as I was after the grand final, but I don't want the swannies to become like Port Adelaide the year after their premiership win in 2004. Im sure the Swans will make the finals again this year & hopefully go all the way, for back to back cups!!!
We will mourn, but it will make us stronger....watch out AFL Sydney will be back in 2007 come September

So Knickers, there are no D'head Swans supporters.

I dare say you have never been to a Swans game.

I would love another premiership especially considering I wasn't at the 2005 GF. That being said, I don't expect us to go back to back but if we don't finish top four and make a prelim I will be sorely disappointed.

I think Ball retiring is a huge blow.

I am as hungry as anyone for the next one - possibly more so - but I don't think I'll get over this one until someone takes our position as premiers and champions off us.
I'm reasonably confident it won't happen in 2006.
With all due respect to the Swans magnificent victory and all posters here, I reckon the ABC needs to not get so excited.

1970 remains the greatest Grand Final victory in VFL/AFL history. As good as the Swans win was, it will not be regarded with the same awe in 36 years time as 1970 is currently.

Definitely won't find any sarcasm coming from me. I just googled it to find the answer. Was it the best because Collingwood was beaten?

*Carlton were 44 points down at half time

*Jezza took the 'Mark of the century'

*Famed as being the game that spawned the modern 'running game' due to Ron Barrasi's famous 'handball at all costs' edict

*Might be wrong on this, but am pretty sure it was a record crowd at the 'G' at the time, which I think was eclipsed by the crowd for 1972.

*And finally, yeah 'cos it was Collingwood

Back to topic, what's with this 'sick of the premiership' crap? I'm guessing there's no Swans supporter here that has experienced one prior to 2005, unless they've snuck in some laptops to an old folks home.

They don't come around real often (even if you're fortunate enough to barrack for Carlton ) so when they do come savour every minute.
