David Williamson should scrap "The Club" and do a screen play called "The Year"
It wouldn't work, the script would be too improbable. Who would believe a goal from nothing with three seconds to play in a semi final? Who would believe the result of an entire season hinging on the result of a final desperate marking contest?

Instead of calling ourselves the might swans we could call ourselves "The Mighty Ducks".

I just watched the game for the first time in its entirety since Sept 23 and was on the edge of my seat the hole way through despite already knowing the outcome. Noth teams should be prasied for their performances on the day. The score was a reflection of the quality of the defence and the dermination of each team rather than any suggestion of negative play. It was amazing to see what happened from the viewer's perspective as opposed to the view I had at the game. I hadn't been ready to watch it again yet as I was happy to use my own memories but I was pleasantly surprised to find how much I enjoyed the game as a game on a subsequent viewing.

            It's a little Carlton-centric, so my apologies.

[Particularly doesn't mention Basher William's offer to settle the issue with the sly thug Chitty after the match. Chitty wisely declined the great man's offer
