Yeah, but it is a darn site better than working at Jack in the Box or Dennys Diners for $3US/hour.

"I was at a school the other day and I told a group of girls we had a koala in the car," Roos said."They were 18-year-old soccer players and they were so intrigued they actually came over and had a look in the car and realised I didn't have a koala in the car."

I personally loved the part where they asked if we have two-storey buildings in Australia

I was in LA last month and saw the posters for the match and kicking myself that I wasn't there a month later.

          .
No wonder some of these actors can only get roles on those dumbass soapies in the U.S
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

Your determination, your tenacity and your under-rated skill is why you have become my favourite player!

I first went to the US in 1994 as a part of a school trip and at a local school we were asked questions like "Do you have microwaves in Australia?" and "Do you have a pet kangaroo?" We were stunned by their ignorance of things outside their little world.

At Puckapunyal we actually do have kangaroos hopping down the main street...at least that part of US belief of all things down under is right

I've been asked similar questions about Ireland by Australians, believe it or not. Evrywhere has ill-informed people, America certainly has no monopoly on them.

One girl actually told me one day whilst talking about Aussie places like Cardiff and Swansea etc that 'you poms [wrong on that one love] should get your own placenames instead of always copying ours'.

Funny. She wasn't the brightest spark the poor girl.

Was she from Queensland and/or blonde? Because that would explain a lot.

That's a crack up. Hardly surprising, given their current president had a go at the French when they refused to support the Iraq invasion by saying something along the lines of "what do you expect, the French don't even have their own word for entrepreneur" and other such pearls as:

"What's the use of sending a $2 million missile into a $10 tent to hit a camel in the butt? "

"More and more of our imports are coming from overseas "

"Not in French, nor English, nor Mexican "

By far my favourite bushism was when he met Lula in Brazil and said: 'So you guys have a lot of blacks too?'

                        What a complete empty-head!

You can hear his answer to a question on tribal sovereignty on www.boreme.com too which is fairly amusing (but deeply frightening too).

Anyway apologies for fully straying from topic of footy!

                        Up the Swans!

I once saw a sticker on the back of a car that said "Imports are a pain in the deficit"...problem was it was on the back of a Jeep Cherokee

Yes I worked for quite a while overseas and their ignorance is stunning. Many of the countries of the world they haven't heard of. They don't seem to relate to tv programs outside of their own. They only seem to understand their own brand of humour.

Perfect example is redoing their own version of The Office. How on earth did it win a Golden Globe? It wasn't even funny!
