I'm not panicking about the results of any pre-season games, but something worth panicking about is this:
Even a player like forward Michael O'Loughlin, who has rarely played pre-season games in past years due to ongoing fitness issues, is poised to play a couple of practice matches.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

So why would you bother to pay to watch the reserves side play?
Surely our seniors need some match practice

So do our younger kids who hasn't played at this level before. Better they learn in meaningless matches rather than being thrown in at the deep end of a Home and Away match.
