    Lrt

After watching the highlights on the swans website, i am getting even more excited with LRT. If he can just improve his kicking, he could be the next Wayne Carey or whatever, i mean he looks that good. Id like to see him in CHB next week though, maybe on Rocca or someone, to see his defensive skills.

    Good comments.

We don't want to put too much pressure on him though, he is only a kid.

I ould not rush him as he is only a kid. His body has a lot of growing yet and he will learn if he can get some games off the bench. In basketball terms he is a rookie backup centre who comes in off the bench.

Get Plugger back to teach him how to kick over the summer and plenty of gym work as well. Will make a CHF. He falls away to the right and then tries to draw the ball back. This will be very unreliable especially in the windy days.

Looks like great hands and a quick brain. Well done first up.

Surely the fullback we have been looking for!!!

Genuinely tall and will be strong. Great hands (Marking and handpassing), good speed, good quick vision and a crap kick.
          Put him at fullback!!!

a couple of serious bloopers by the boy BUT Roos stayed with him....well done coach . i also liked the way Roos shoved him in the ruck....what a baptism.
Great performance by LRT and the coach........bet Eade wouldn't have been so forgiving.

I think that his kicking is better than what we saw against Geelong . Sure he muffed his 1st kick but he also managed a pressure goal after the siren . In the few matches that I have seen him play I thought that his kicking was average rather than poor. I am sure the coaching staff will improve his kicking given time.

Also did anyone else think he has a huge leap. When in the ruck, he looked as if he jumped as high as Goodes, except he is actually tall, which means he could be better in the ruck than Goodes.
                  IMHO

Besides the scrubby first kick what was his other blooper? I suspect Eade wouldn't have dragged him after just that.

I thought he showed confidence and good thinking. He had a touch within seconds of taking the field (certainly less than a minute). He missed his first kick - but hey, allow the guy for nerves, then he slotted two. He also had a good head under pressure. His teammates seemed to be prepared to trust him and kick to him .... IMO that must have been a good confidence builder too. He certainly wasn't backward. I reckon he should be very happy with his performance, I reckon his parents would have been rapt.

Mark Powell is showing good confidence too. I've been surprised to see him getting in there. ANd he has taken good, strong marks in contests.

It's hard not to think that the confidence comes from Roos' approach. I remember talking to Amon Buchanon after his (very) short outing in Perth, he only had minutes on the field before getting pulled. They were all too afraid of doing something wrong.

The last two matches, I've noticed that as the guys come into the rooms after the game, they are looking up and acknowledging the crowd and actually seem to be enjoying and sharing their victory. This is a huge change from the downcast eyes (win or lose). Many of them are saying that Roos is encouraging them to enjoy their footy ... it certainly looks like this is making a difference.

for a person who has only played 40 games of AFL throughout his entire career LRT is my instant cult figure along with Adam.S (as i refer him to as Little Adam)

im very excited about these 2 players for the future for the swans i think all of sydney swans loyal supporters should get behind our young cygnets and this will help their confidence

While I think it's getting a little ahead of ourselves calling him the next Carey... it was a VERY good debut.

So good to see the #30 back in action!!!

LRT was really pleasing and I agree with everyones comments about him.
Just on his kicking, he has major work to do. He can kick it far and sometimes accurately, however it is a bit of a raffle where the ball is going to go when he kick its.
When he is holding the ball before he kicks it, instead of his arms being steady they are rocking from left to right and before he places the ball on his boot he guides the ball down with his right arm from very far away from his body.
However this is something that is easily fixable, and other attributes which you cant teach a player he seems to have which is very good.
