I wouldn't mind if he joined the board, but for an excessively rabid supporter of another team to join the board of the Swans... well, I can't imagine him actually agreeing to do it.
I can't imagine him ever joining the Board of another team.

Originally posted by Old Dragon Rumour has it that Eddie Maguire has allegedly been approached to join the Swans Board. It is understood that this was instigated by a very highly placed player within the Swans hierarchy. Can anyone confirm this?
If this is true, why? That'd be a conflict of interest. If Eddie got on the Swans board, it 'd amount to suicide for the club.

For a realistic contribution to NSW footy, I wouldn't mind seeing Eddie join the NSW/ACT AFL board.
I think that is a good suggestion, there is a position there for him made vacant by Colless.
I would not like to see Eddie on the board at the Swans. I don't like the way he acts around a footy club, I was honestly disgusted by the way he (and Malthouse) acted with Nick Davis.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

Sounded like John Elliott when Hamill wanted a transfer away from Carlton.
Surely a board members heart has to be with the club and not elsewhere. Anyway I think he has enough on his plate with Channel Noine trying to win back all the viewers they have scr$ewed over the years.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC
