Jeez that pisses me off - Leo Barry does his usual run through the middle of the ground and twice handballs to a player under pressure rather than kicks it long into the forward line. For god sake, simple football is often the best when you desperately need a goal.

He is running too deep out of defence. He is coming from a pocket when he should be doing that off a flank. Roos should of moved him to a flank/wing because he cost us dearly going forward. Having said that he wasn't the only one

Who said he was to blame for us losing? I wrote that post just after he stuffed up twice in the centre of the ground when we were trying to go forward just 3 goals down. It pissed me off at the time as it was quite stupid. However, nowhere did I say that he was the reason we lost. Basically nearly the whole team is to blame. So therefore you can avoid the snide remarks thanks.

I went to the game and also listened to News Radio and Rodney Eade gave the votes as follows

Eade believed that Leo brought us back into the game with his running and gave Archer a real bath.

Yeah, overall I thought he played reasonably well. However, his brain explosions can be quite costly and are not always necessary. That stuff up in the last 10 minutes was a case in point.

I thought Leo did ok today, at least he had a go, he will make mistakes because he takes a lot of chances, there was far worse than him in that side today, I dont know how many players fumbled the ball, just could not pick it up cleanly. Leo just tries to keep the ball moving.

Have to agree with Rocket, Leo did a good job today. Went toe to toe with Archer, and still provided continuous rebound.

Goodes, Ball and Barry made plenty of mistakes, but you can put that down to the fact that they were having to work twice as hard to cover for so many of their team mates who went missing.

The defence did the job again, and kept the opposition to what should have been a losing score.

But the midfield without Cressa is feeble, and without Davis and O'Loughlin, the forward line is very one-dimensional and apparently pretty easy to match up on. Roos tried to spark things up by rotating LRT, Nicks, Stevens, Kennelly and even Powell through the forward line, but without success.

LRT looks impressive - good spring in the ruck, and might make a useful forward if he can tighten up his kicking.

How long before Doyle comes back?? We need him.

Must admit, the little bit I saw of him in defence for Port Melb last year, he didn't look like a backman - but I guess I've said that about Kennelly plenty of times, and he's certainly learning fast.

Talking of backmen, I saw a top fullback yesterday - no. 6 for Leongatha. Reads the play superbly, and never misses a mark! Doubt if we'll see him in the draft though.

One thing that is a worry about Leo (and to a slightly lesser extent Stuie Maxfield) is his complete lack of a right foot. At least once he could have kicked it into the forward 50, but took too much time to wheel around onto his left.
