But yes this hoodoo they have over us must be removed before we can progress. It's Roos' first crack at Sheedy for 4 points so it'll be interesting to see what he does. Surely it cant be any worse than our past few efforts. We only have to get up by 2 points to beat Eades best winning margin against them.
IMO we have to really target one player: not Hird, Lloyd or Johnson, but Alessio. That big barstid is practically useless all year except when they play us. If Ball or even LRT can't smother him & shut him out of the game, then maybe a sniper somewhere in the rafters at SA.To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!Comment

Roos was just on 2UE and said may be a risk going into Saturday night with Magic and Saddo missing three games and Cressa two games.
They would not be match fit.
Be interesting to see final composition of the team.
Whatever it is may we beat Essendon and win the "Mahn Grook?" trophy - Essendon seem to take all trophies - except we beat Melbourner on Anzac - well done

Agreed. I hate Essendon. And then daylight to North Melbourne since Carey is no longer with them. Two favourite Swans v Essendon moments, both in '96 finals: Beating them by 1 point and Dunks reagganging Hird's makeup.Comment

The Dogs looked very very good for parts of their game on Saturday. It struck me that they don't play unlike the Swans do when on song - ie hard running and quick delivery forward.
Historically, we've had some shockers against this style of play, and we've had a history of dropping all the big ones.
Our clashes with Hawthorn and Freo this year are perfect examples - and what about that Freo game last year? One of the worst games I've ever seen!
I see signs this might change, though. Our transition is far faster under Roos, giving our quality forwards a better look in, and so far our goal kicking accuracy has rewarded these efforts (knock wood).

Ha - my Dad hates Carlton because of the bloodbath and because they were only one of two clubs that wanted to let us fold. The other club was Melbourne so he hates them too. He also hates StKilda because of Grant and Butters and Loewe and some others.Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.
