    Saturday's SNDon game

Watching the Bombers v Weagles game, it was apparent that the bombers were playing a very physical, at-the-man and at-the-ball brand of football...hard, but fair...tackling was ferocious... How do you think we will stand up against them...Lloyd back on form...
My dislike of the bombers may be even stronger if we get a real thumping on the ground and scoreboard at SA.

    2 other points

Cut the comp to 14 teams...get rid of the bombers and hawks...or amalgamate them with pies and saints.

I say, make Sydneys salary cap the norm, but reduce it for those teams in states where the COL is not as high...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

The physical pressure Sydney put the Tigers under in the second half was evident. Maxfield also really shook up Richo and the young blokes like Powell don't seem to be scared to put the shoulder in. I think we can match both teams on that front, its the skill execution that will need to lift.

        What a lot of rubbish.

Why would you want to cut the competition to 14 teams, absolutely rediculous i reckon.

I'd like to see 14 teams with no pre season and every team playing everyone else twice.

More to the point I think it will happen eventually, but the Bombers won't be one of the teams to go....

            16 Teams

Previous year top 8 play each other twice and the bottom 8 play each other twice. Total of 24 games?

            Fairer comp

Each team plays to their ability on previous year finish position....

Drop the pre season - to long for the players

Work back from last sat in Sept....

By my reckoning that would only take the current 22 games and is probably what should already be happening - it would be 14 games against those who finished in the same half as you and 8 against those who didn't. Or is my maths up the creek?

Of course it won't happen because of derbies, showdowns, blockbusters etc etc etc

Plugger46, cos i HATE sndon and the hawks...and others hate the sainters and the wobbles...seems to work for me.

Besides, like what goes on in a rugby scrum, it was tongue in cheek...but I do HATE essendon
In fact I think I'll just watch the 1987 Swannies v Sndon game again for good measure...mmmmmmm those were the days!!!

                    My view ...
                    Keep 16 teams

Each team plays each other ONCE

After 15 rounds, then top 10 commense on and the bottom 6 drop out.

The remain teams play each other once more.
                    Then Final 5.

I don't think that finnacially stable teams tend to merge. With little help they (Victorian teams) still manage to survive.

Your swans are requesting $2M if I heard correctly. It would seem you are finnancially unstable and you may need to merge. The AFL however will probably give in to you.

And if we are in need, so they should.

By now you would think that even the biggest moron would realise if AFL is to grow as our national code, it is essenital that The Swans survive.

                          It's that simple.

I agree with you. A sydney team needs to survive, but maybe the answer to that is a merge with perhaps the Kangeroos. It worked with Brisbane and could be a possibility in the future with the swans perhaps.

Personally, I don't like mergers, but the money you're team is asking for is totally unfair to the rest of the 15 clubs.
