They probably want him to build up some match fitness, but then again I don't see why this wouldn't apply to Cressa or Magic.

It would probably depend on how much each player could train whilst they were injured, whether their injuries are really gone and on match-ups.

You'd probably have Mickey O'L on the ground 50% fit as he can still kick a few goals and ties up one of their key defenders.

I read today that his "hip" injury has actually been a torn quadricep

Not sure how long this will keep him out...but if they can afford to leave him out another fortnight...he'll end up having the long break as well.

on the same broadcast that i heard about the mystery backer... they showed a shot of sadders, doyle and a few others having a run... sadders had his long hair, so it wast an old piece of footage... they obviously dont wanna risk him... surely a half fit sadders playing off the bench is better than warfe getting the same game time

You're kidding right? Taking a winged backman into a game like this over a fully fit player for the sake of 15-20min gametime? Worse than that...taking a winged backman we will NEED for the rest of the year? Tell me you're kidding.

if he is gonna play half a game for the ressies, y not play 20 mins in the firsts???

my point is that warfe is the type of player that will lose this game for us!!!

Warfe's not so bad. Leaping Leo's Instabounce is more frightening! Take a chill pill! He might only play 20mins in the 2s anyway, who's to say?

With respect, half a game in the ressies wouldn't be 5 mins in the firsts.

Do you really think he could play a role as a key defender if he's hobbled? No. And he sure as hell isn't going to be running loose around the ground all day if he's sore.

What they're saying by giving him a run is...look, he's tender, he might be close, but buggered if we're going to risk him with half a season to play while there are options available willing to prove themselves.

On top of that....tagging a player as the one who's going to decide whether we win or lose just based on his selection is the kind of thinking that keeps useless clubs on the mat for decade after decade.

You're bagging a solid interchange utility...the kind of guy that can plug a hole for 5min while the coach rests a player or experiments with a move or two. Plus he has experience with longer stints, so Roos knows he has him up his sleeve if a match-up goes badly wrong.

In a gameplan like ours, these guys are equally involved in every victory...and we've been winning with him in...so I don't understand the logic.

Belief is fragile. Sometimes you have to give it room to grow.

no, the reason why we "have been on the mat" (whatever the h.ell type of saying that is) is coz we keep picking these hacks in front of worthy youngsters... id rather stevens have a spot or sunny for that matter, as well as powell

Yes. I was just thinking to myself how Roos has been choosing "hacks" all year and not playing the kids like he should be. Perhaps you should email the club and tell them to start blooding...better late than never, hey?

Look...take it up with Roos if you know so much about coaching. But I highly doubt that with Micky in, Stevens is needed forward; and with Saddo injured and needing to be out, that Sundqvist is ready for such a large defensive role. Powell certainly would've been an option, but he's young...maybe he's a little sore? Who knows?"

Oh that's right. The COACHING STAFF know.

Sunny is going to be really good. But it pays to have a little experience on the bench now and then.

Huh?? Not at all. Penga's posting. I'm posting. I'm not attacking anybody's view, here, I'm just defending the boys. It gets me down when we endlessly slag off players...it all just seems counter-productive.

As far as I could tell...the extent of Penga's argument was Warfe is crap...end of statement. All I did was offer a few reasons why that just isn't true.

                          Sue me.

In truth I agree with what you said, I just really hate the your not a coach and as such don't know anything line and I thought that post ruined your others.

p.s. I think warfe should be in the two's for himself not just the team.
