    BBB Hall in great form

Its great for Sydney Hall has hit such good form. In the past I thought Hall has been slow but last night the way he reacts and gather the ball and sprint was amazing to see. Maybe Maxfield work ethic caught on and Hall was one mean machine.

Fantastic team performance last night. I'M SO PROUD!!!

Big game against top of ladder Port in 2 weeks will be a litmus test on how far we will go in the finals. Hope they will have a good break and come out firing. Should be one terrific game.

Really admire BBBH's restraint - opposition, umpires, crowd - like water off a duck's back these days. His work ethic is way up, not a one-trick pony any more, lots of one-percenters, GREAT team player.
    Keep it up.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Bazza may not be as talented as plugger - he is the greatest - but getting bazza to sydney HAS and WILL be as important as was getting plugger to sydney for our team success and structure.

The thing I like most about BBBB at the moment is that he really looks to be enjoying himself.

One of the highlights for me, of any Swannies match, is when Bazza lays on a tackle and just rags-dolls the opposition.

Good call CheerCheer! I am a big fan of Baz's work when he's collecting the crumbs, scoops up that tiny Sherrin and shruggs of 2 and 3 tackles to get a shot himself or pass off to someone almost always in a better position!

            His defence it a highlight!

I've always said that Barry is amazing off the ground for a big bloke. Even when he spills it, you better believe that he's going to have a second crack at it. His strength is not in pack marks, or out-muscling a strong fullback, so you normally see him working to his strengths - he will lead up the ground quite often, IMHO he does his best work around the 50m distance.

              Wayne who?

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

He can "rag-doll" the opposition even when they tackle him!! I just love the way he moves around the half-forward line! That is definitely his best position.

Hall has been sensational the last few weeks. O'loughlin really takes the pressure off Bazza, when he is in the side.

It was always unfair to compare him to Plugger, because he was arguably the best player of all time, Hall is a good footballer in his own right, but everyone knows he is no Lockett.

Bazza has been playing sensational footy. He's causing havoc at both centre half forward and full forward. If he's not kicking goals he is setting them up and has played a major role in Sydney's surge to the top. And reckoned he was a bit out of form!

Your looking good to us BAzz!!

I knew he would make a decent CHF.

Has the strength, the disposal skills and the football brain to be up there with the best of them.

We struggle when he is at FF.

One of the reasons we often struggled at times in the 96-01 era was the lack of a CHF. Even having one of the greatest FF ever doesn't help if you can't get it to him properly or get it past the HF line. Now we have that CHF, plus a range of talented other forward options. This is the sort of structure that enabled North to be a champion team in the 90s.

Agree 100% with you. What would have been if we had a CHF during those years?

Yes CHF becomes redundant at the SCG but Barry showed it can be done and so has Wank Carey on many occasions.

Indeed they cannot be compared , as they are different types of players.
Lockett was an out and out FF - he did not create opportunities in the same way Hall does.
But we were virtually cheering the goal even before Plugger had taken the mark , such was his marking power and goalkicking ability.
Hall's transition to playing CHF was born out of frustration when supply was lacking and I think his emergence in this position is what may save him from a tribunal trip this year.
Though it may ensure that , along with the rest of the Swans ,
he gets a few extra journeys to Melbourne this year.
