No, I remember Warfie on Gehrig that night - he copped a hammering early and then recovered well to restrict FG in the latter stages of the game.

Of course, a single result 5 years ago means nothing now. Even PK had dirty games.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Ding dong the witch is dead

      WARFE IS GAWWWWWWWN.

I had to bring up the 98 game just to do some @@@@ - stirring for all the warfe lovers.

Tell me Plugger do you honestly think that warfe should be there
instead of you "targets" Barry or Matthews ?

How many more chances does he deserve.

The best thing for him is to dominate in the magoos, get some game time and if there are injuries or a form slump , then maybe he MAY get another chance.

But I certainly pick Mark Powell , Sunny and SStevens before Warfe.

Maybe we can trade Warfe to the "DOCKERS"

Give me Warfey everytime ahead of Mathews and Stevens.

Leo deserves his spot at the moment, no arguments there, but as far as I'm concerned Mathews is the weak link, he plays ordinary, conservative footy. Stevens is too slow, and I have my doubts as to whether he'll make it.

Powell and Sunny are a different issue, their progress is positive and I don't see Warfe hindering their development as footballers.

Warfe is a leader, and by what I saw last night at training he is definitely wanted at the club.

        He'll be back....

apart from taking up a spot??? (although not anymore)

powell will be the long term "replacement" for warfe... similar game, although i think powelly executes it better

Plugger if you can't see that we missed Matthews last week as the sweeper across half back you must be blind. As I've said we had to "rob peter to pay paul" by playing Maxi in Ben's role last week. We missed Maxi's drive last week.

I wouldn't count on a quick return for Warfe. He really needs to dominate in the magoos and for some poor performances in our defence in the next few weeks to get back in.

long term, i hope sadders takes over on the HBF, with kennelly pushing up the ground a bit and play his current role but from the wing, have him hovering around 65-70m out from goal and have him breaking lines and delivering to the forward line from there... mathews play the sweeper and barry the running HBF...

i disagree with your assessment on stevens however i dont think he will make it in our side... he needs a move and considering he is a WA boy, a move back to WA would be the thing he needs...

we should do a four way deal... stevens + 4th round pick for croad and then ontrade croad, nicks and seymour plus our 2nd rounder to carlton for their priority pick and mckernan, then trade mckernan to the dogs for their second rounder

we would lose that 4th round pick, but end up with pick 2, 12-16 () and 17

                        1. 4th round pick? Does anyone actually bother to trade a fourth rounder? I doubt there's any value in that pick.
                        2. Surely Carlton won't trade a priority pick, assuming they even get it, as they only have to win 1 more game.
                        3. Bulldogs wouldn't want Corey.

i partly agree with your 1st point

                          2. ive been discussing this on bigfooty as well... im sure that theyd reconsider when croad, nicks, seymour and 2nd rd pick are available

                          3. WHATEVER. the dogs would love CMc, he could release darcy into the forward line as well as being able to play forward as well... theyre in desperate need of KPP

                            2. Nicks and Seymour won't be playing in a few years time. Carlton have too many aging players and need youth, not older players.

                            3. Corey will be 30 this year, he won't provide many years service to the dogs.

There's no point for Carlton to trade to 'top up' their list. They need to rebuild and a priority pick will go a long way towards that, considering the restrictions placed on them. I'm not saying I'm not in favour of this trade, I just find it unrealistic.
