I wasn't able to follow the game (two games, four radio stations plus TV covering the footy - none of them the Sydney game), but I was quite amazed to see he made it into double figures for possessions. Then I saw the five clangers, and it made much more sense.

Nicks has been pretty disappointing, but he hasn't been getting a great amount of game time. I was going to suggest that O'Keefe get a better run in his place, but apparently he played 57 minutes for only one kick against Port. Surely it's about time Saddington and Seymour returned.

Ooooh Destructive you have stated what I have feared to since round 3 or 4. And when he was played in the centre in round 11... OMG that bloke was a dear with no eyes!

Gee, the vulnerability of our defence was really tested. And i think the loss helped us by giving us a true picture of our defence.

We need the injured players back, the young players given a chance and the midfield to attack more.

Totally agree, he made two mistakes but otherwise was very good, especially in the 3rd quarter when the pressure was on. I can't believe people who continually bag him, when he is the one bloke who is prepared to back himself and show some ticker. He took two great marks in the 3rd quarter going back with the flight of the ball, and not many others in the side are prepared to that.

Everyone looks at his mistakes, which are bad but the good things he does, outweigh the bad. Stick with him Roosey.

He's not going anywhere folks.

I have pretty much said from day one that I didn't think Bolton was up to it. Ok against ordinary opposition though.

If he did so every so offen then, fine keep him, yet he does this week in and week out, even if the pressure is on or not. I would like to know why you think Warfe should be in the side ahead of Powell when he has a limited future at the club and is always making mistakes????

If I were him I would be trying not to make senior selection because surely he would not want to get his footy on the telly?

Up until Saturday I was on the side of "he's doing okay, just needs a bit more time to get back into form"
But after that dismal performance against Port he has got to go. Why is he getting a run in front of Sundqvist? Surely Sunny couldn't play any worse and the experience would do him the world of good. So much for Roos bringing in the youth. He doesn't have to play them every game, maybe rotate Powell and Sunny through the backs, but Warfe is holding back our development!

richo = odinary opposition??? he towelled him up... bolton has exquisite (sp?) foot skills and is a useful link up rebounding out of the back 50... the difference between warfe and bolton is that while they are criticised for the lack of football brain at least bolton has skills and youth on his side! (BTW, i think bolton has a great football brain, picks and pinpoints his kicks rather than just bombing and hoping... its just that he has to be matched up on larger opposition with the lack of KPP we got)

I think you have to take into consideration our lack of quality key backmen. Although the stats may say we are the second best defence in the comp, in reality we are nowhere near that. Schauble is honest without being great, Leo Barry should not have to compete with the oppositions number 1 forward every week, Craig Bolton would be a very good back pocket player if we had a good fullback, Warfe also would be handy with a decent fullback. Saddington I feel would be better value if played on a wing, Mathews, I dont rate, Nicks, I don't rate. I believe if we were to give Mark Powell a go in place of one of these 2, we would not lose anything by it. Overall with the way the season has gone, a lot of supporters have suddenly raised their expectations of where we will end up this year. I have no doubt we will make the finals, but we will not be serious contenders until we get a couple of high quality, tough, rugged backmen. So when it all comes down to it, these fringe players have done a pretty good job this year, and maybe we should be giving them a bit more credit. I personally bag Mathews and Nicks every week, but with a bit more quality down back maybe even they can become more valuable players.

Yeah perhaps I am a bit harsh on Bolton. He's having to play outside his abilities atm. But I will not retract from my round 11 statement. His stint in the centre reminded me of, and excuse the pun but, those girls that play in the little league. You know the ones... rather than going after the ball and being focused on playing, they are out there making daisy chains

i dont remember this one, but ill take your word for it though...

i think the combo of sadders, bolton, barry and fixter will be great as a small man brigade with the hopeful introduction of some quality KP defenders

Bolton has been quite good this year often in difficult circumstances.

His effort against Cornes though was totally inadequate, time after time giving him 5 metres in most marking contests. Clearly needed to anticipate the delivery and stand in front of Cornes, or be much quicker off the mark.

Was absolutely towelled up!
