With walk up tickets in the Brewongle being around the $60. It makes it a very expensive night.

    Real question:

Why do Swans members get memberships with reserve seats and then continue to not turn up in mass?? You would expect about 85% of the reserved seats by members to be filled for each game.

The West Coast game was the biggest turn up by members in years. I'm scratching my head to explain it.

This doesn't seem to happen in other states.

Apparently only about 60% of members, on average, show up to games. But if you only go to about half the games you still break even by having a membership since you get about a 50% discount on the walk-up price. Plus, of course, by having a reserved seat you're guaranteed where'll you can sit. From the club's perspective, at least its guaranteed money in the coffers.

I suspect also that there are a fair number of Swans members who are fairly well-heeled, given the concentration of support in the lower north shore and eastern suburbs and for whom cost isn't an issue. Even if they only plan to go to a handful of games the cost isn't the issue, it's the convenience of the membership together with the chance to hop right on the bandwagon if and when it starts a-rolling.

Of course, its also possible that there are members who know they won't be able to attend many games but choose to support the club by buying a membership.

Is this typical for a GA ticket at the SCG?

That is crazy, if it is. I get into Docklands for $10 on a student concession card. How the hell do they justify charging $60???

That is upstairs seating in the Bill O'Reilly stand.

GA in Sydney is $21.50. Not sure about concession. I still have a Health Care Card, so get into Melbourne matches for $10, which is mad. They are heaps stricter up here on them.

Still, you won't have any hassles getting in for the Dawks match mate.

As I said, I'm talking about A F L in general NOT Swans ads.

The Adam Goodes ad is a SWANS ad.

The Swans ads are sufficient to inform of game details IMO and I wouldn't want them spending much more on them anyway.

and based on the outrageous prices, youd have to think that swans matches would bring in far more money than a 40,000 crowd at docklands
