Let me explain this "determination" thing I raised before and where it is coming from.
This is not the refernce to the Swans current form but to the perception that they fold away when it comes to the "crunch". My friends, who are of course barracking for other clubs, are saying that the Swans were very frequently missing the opportunities presented to them giving me some examples like 1996 and 1999, where the Swans performed very well in the H&A seasons and than faded away in the finals.
How does this relate to the game against the Saints? This is such opportunity to cement your position in the top 8 and the question is: will the Swans take this great opportunity to take charge for the top 4?
We all know what the answer should be!

sxp, agree that our recent away finals form has been ordinary.. Bulldogs in 97, Essendon in 99, Hawthorn in 01... Mind you, we've broken a few of the "rules" this year... I reckon the side can do anything they want, if they're mentally up to it - and so far this year they have been!

Mind you, I stiill always dread the Sydney vs St Kilda games. It always seems to me like the better performing of the two at the time always finds a way to sink to the level of the other.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

i think the reason for so many close games last year was our inability to play above the other team's level, thus the reason for no close games this year as we blow the team away, or get blown away... with the exception of last weekend, and we know how good west coast are this season...

i think we will blow the saints out of the water...
