I guess it depends on how you look at it. I agree with redunderthebed in that I reckon LRT will make his mark as an AFL player, but he's perhaps not quite ready yet. Will he benefit more from 15-20mins gametime in the seniors, or a full game in the ressies? IMHO, he's had a good run, drop him down to the 2s to get a few full games under his belt.

Of course the coaching staff would know better than I just what value he is getting out of the games.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Reds you must be watching another code, or certainly not the Sydney Swans.

Watch how he makes space on the lead, get a book on footy and find out the meaning of second efforts, have a look at his work when he goes to ground in keeping control and giving off to team mates.

His kicking for goal needs a bit of work (he looks at the goals instead of watching the ball onto his boot, hence the wobbles) and he needs to ensure he keeps his feet. But strewth he has enormous raw talent, that will burst out when hgets a leading role.

LRT isnt going anywhere, coz he's Paul Roos's love child! Every time Roos is interviewed he makes some comment about how exciting it is to watch LRT run around.

And anyway, who cares? After all, the Swans are in a pretty good position when they can still win games with effectively only 21 players each week. Why not give LRT as much experience as possible. It'll make up for the first 15 years of his life before aussie rules presented itself to him.

Good thread midaro - similair to my schneider for buchanan.
It wouldn't worry me to see LRT back to the ressies and I would like more of a look at MJ.

Mieckeljohn played and was poleaxed early in the game and never emerged again.

We rucked with Powell, Stevens and a top-up player. You can put that down to the reason we were beaten in the 2's.

did JM suffer any injuries or was it just a case of a heavy knock?

i would like to see JM again... IMO, powell couldnt be an inclusion at the expense of LRT as powell has limited runking capabilities...

i am one who also likes LRT's work ethic, and his huge leap... i took a mate along on saturday night (crows fan) and he couldnt believe that lrt was playing, calling him a git and stuff... i was defending him for the night but had to admit it wasnt the best game to see him first playing... he is a rookie after all
